I play Sakura because she was awesome in SFA3. I was sad that she was really toned down in SF4 but I still love her nonetheless. It’s nice to work into her and see some results back. I also like the fact that no one really knows what to do against her. Everyone I play I sense this vibe of “Is this guy really using Sakura?” So I like to do my best and capitalize on that. Plus she’s just fun to use since she different from the other shoto’s but unique
Because she’s the underdog. Because using her needs some skill.
Because I’d rather work for my wins and feel genuinely better than my opponent when I win rather than have over 9000 Ultra setups and completely safe options for offense. If I’m putting myself out on the offense and I **** up I deserve to be punished.
So I can learn her mixups so I dont become the next Alex Valle at EVO…
…and because shes fun to play online because when you land that stun on somebody and use taunt #6 (she just laughs at them) or #7 where she stretches out then just jab them in the face to death, is just…oh so satisfying in many more ways than even sex.
Because are combo’s and d moves are versitile, she should be the main character.
Because she’s a school girl!
I also agree with this post. One of my friends was actually trying to discourage me from using her anymore (at least in tourneys at least). However, I felt coming back to using Sakura would some new insight on how I approach the game. Using her really does force you to be on top of your A-game 24/7… plus as it’s been highlighted already, she doesn’t have any “broken” tools. Mixups and exceptional knowledge of SF is key for her success.
I realize since it’s been years since I have regularly played her and thus will lose matches (it’s all a learning experience), but she’s just too fun of a character to pass up. Glad to be using her again.

Because I actually find her good…? The level of people I play locally and online(terrible) have terrible defense and Sakura can really really take advantage of that. Also her momentum is amazing and she is very all around. I don’t feel she loses to any particular playstyle or tactic which is important to me.

I main at least one female char per fighter when the choice is given in general, but Sakura also first became my favorite fighting game char back when MVC2 came out…so she stuck.
And I get a good laugh whenever I hear, “Bitch!” or, “Whore!” over the mic after a win…it’s priceless.

and She is the only Character in the game who wears skirt. Come on! a game without skirt is useless!

She is also the only char who smiles when about to be ultra’ed and also smiles when she gets knocked down. Said it before, she likes the rough stuff!
Shenanigans is the main reason I play her because getting heisman resets then pulling off shit after just makes everyone happy. Plus she is very underrated.
