You know, after poking around the the wiki’s and such, I’ll say my reason for wanting these characters brought back is for updated character themes.
Since sakura is around 20 she shouldn’t be running around in school girl clothes anymore.
If the internet has taught me anything, she clearly must enjoy being groped on Japanese public transportation.

A molester would probably catch a bad break messing with Sakura. Come to think of it, maybe she uses the uniform to bait unsuspecting molesters into random street fights.
I’m sure. I rarely know anything is anything on the internet until I absorb it through random forum posts or reddit or something. Shoot, I don’t even have a Facebook or Twitter.
Sometimes you have to wonder about the mental and emotional state of these Street Fighter characters. Even a seemingly well adjusted one, like Guile, is obsessed with telling everyone to go home a family man. Even if they’re women.
Ibuki goes on a worldwide shanking spree with kunai just to find a boyfriend. They’re all crazy, I tell ya.
I would love to have Eagle here :), people forgets that he was also in CvS2.

I really like some of the character designs in SF1. Although plain jane by today’s standards the SF1 cast that was later added in the Alpha series is great. Some with just subtle tweaks to their character design (Gen) and others with much more dramatic changes (Birdie). I think Capcom could apply some forward current thinking to already existing characters and give them a real style of their own. Much better IMO then people begging for characters and then complaining that they don’t play the way they want them to play.
Just awesome evolution in characters. Couldn’t the same be done for Retsu, Lee, Geki and Joe?
I’m not wishing, just deducing that some character from SF1 and Final Fight would be brought back, because…
In the crossover with SNK both then one shot characters, Eagle and Maki were coined for a second appearance. And what a memorable second appearance indeed! Facing them with the classic SNK chars.
And I’m not counting Poison because he already was in that failed Final Fight fighting game of '99.
You know what, for those of you that say is poinless bringing back both Lee and Mike, let me tall that’s not.
Since Mike was rejected of pro boxing leagues, he could easily gain some kicks and grapple moves which converted him in a MMA fighter which are so popular right now…
And those who say that with Yun, Yang and Gen in the spotlight, Lee would have no place in…
Let me tell you that chinese martial arts are so versatile that a great part of these are unknown in occident.
In Virtua Fighter series for example, there are like 5 characters who fights with chinese martial arts, so of course I’d like to see the all-chinese Lee coming back…
In the Final Fight line, of course I’d like to see Lucia coming back… Maybe they could say she was an old friand of Chunners from police academy, or something like that.
As an old GNR fan I’d like to see Axl or Slash returning too.
Slash could have a super guitar smashing as an special, uh?
OK, I know that is unlikely to see one of them in the final roster but… DLC, what’s its point if not to surprise the player?
Besides, maybe the Capcom dudes would like to beat the 19 year hiatus of SNKP character Hwa Jai, who returned for their latest game don’t you think…?
Well, in the worst of the cases, instead of DLC we’ll see a Super Street Fighter x Tekken in Jan 2013…
And the returning characters could be shirtless Joe and crybaby Bred as the lowlife team…
But anyways, I think is something viable to expect one of these shoking returns again.
I think it was the other way around, actually. At least for me. When I first played CvS2 I thought Eagle was new for the game. Never even knew he came from SF1 til years later, lol.
People want them in for the same reason they want anything, man. There’s a void in their life that they feel the need to fill. For some people, that void is shaped like a ninja, or a karate man.
That’s no big deal. A lot of people didn’t know about SF3 until SF4 dropped… now THAT is a derp.
Most of the SF1 characters are pretty lame, a bunch of them have only appeared in Alpha since and Alpha home was forgettable (I remember the arcade machines pretty well).
It’s kind of sad how the younger crowd haven’t grown up with SF and have only got into the franchise with four, there were tons of great old characters I’d love to see pop back up that hardly any of the younger guys recognise/remember.
I still own Street Fighter II: Special Champion Edition (Hyper Fighting) on the Megadrive (the entire roster of that particular game is in SFIV though)
People just want something different. More is always better. I’d rather see lots of alternate outfits and good music but chances are those will be DLC while something like Soul Calibur has create a character.

If SF1 characters have made it into other SF games then why not this???

Birdie/Dudley= Social Classes of England Team.
Birdie was such a terrible character though… there is a reason he’s been rated multiple times as the worst SF character ever conceived lol. I really hope they don’t bring him back again. Cool theme team ideas though.
