Besides covering their asses I think the point devs are making is the wilder you make the characters the harder it will be to balance. Notice how most characters are humanoids, now what if there was a snake? That would be tough to balance. What if there was a bird character that could only fly but not walk or touch the ground? Tough to balance. Even a quadriped is tough cause now the hurt box is along the ground and many high normals may whiff. Or imagine a character who took up the whole screen, couldn’t move but had godlike projectiles? Hard to balance.
There seems to be a wide spread idea amongst some players where “Tier List =/= Unbalanced”.
Seriously? That’s pretty cool, I remember people were popping off when the Japanese said Dieminion had the best Guile. Always good to see recognition from across the Ocean.
Why do people complain more about Sasquatch when Zabel looks like the better character? I don’t follow VS at all so I wouldn’t know. All I know is that Jon is “easy, scrub” character.
It was quite awhile ago. Kengallon asked mar how he handles the wolf match up with anak. “Keep pressing MP and pray he stays in the corner.” which Kengallon replied That’s what Chikyuu would say.
people dont like Sasquatch and j talbain cause they are hard to beat and a lot of people pick those characters. Even though Zabel and Qbee are just as annoying or more.
Sas gets more flak because even a simple chain from him can cause a huge momentum shift in a game where momentum already shifts rapidly. On the characters with less health, a bnb off a hop can do like 40% or more red damage, then he gets knockdown off that into more damage or he command grabs for a reset into even more obscene damage. Zabel gets lots of options and absurd damage off kd too, but it’s not so readily apparent as seeing your health bar suddenly fill up with red and white because you pressed a button at the wrong time. This can leave the other player feeling very cheated when they otherwise had the match in control the whole time. Probably a lot of other reasons I’m forgetting/don’t know.
Like jed said, that is the latest one. The green boxes indicate changes in numbers from the last revision, which is this:
I know who Mighty Marn is, I meant to say I think Anakaris is maybe the hardest characters in the game to use. Some people can go by tier charts for some video games. Though when you see people win with low tiers and mid tiers, obviously those people dont care about those charts, they just want to win with the characters they like. So it asks the question should we go by tier charts or just watch tournament vids.
