Why didn't Daigo play Ryu in 3rd Strike?

Daigo is ryu though and has been using him since the Super Turbo years. So why didn’t he stick with ryu? Is he that bad of a character in 3rd Strike?

I stopped smoking a week ago and started feeling better. My breathing feels easier etc. But now when I smoke even 1 cig a day I get shortness of breath the next day wtf???!!! Any idea why I don’t just quit smoking at all?

Why do you care?

I like this guy

whos daigo? does he play soccer??

Yeah, these days it’s best to take that statement with a grain of salt. He’s said a lot of things that contradict each other over the years, but I’d be willing to believe that particular quote was probably a mistranslation. It’s obvious he thinks Chun is the best character in the game(he wouldn’t hate her so much otherwise), so it’s probably something he said without putting too much thought into it, like when he said he wasn’t good at charge partitioning.

Or maybe he really did think Akuma was the best character at the time. I mean it’s not too hard to see the logic: the only thing that keeps Akuma from being top-tier is his low health, so with Kuroda’s defense he could easily be shot up to one of the best characters.

I dunno, Kuroda’s a mystery to me sometimes.

Daigo isn’t “Ryu.” Daigo is anyone he feels like playing.

SF4 has gotten too far into your head.

He lost a bet.

I dont even…

If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends.

Im sure he just wanted to play a shoto that had tools since he believe that Ken was a worthy character with dominate tools. Ryu is just…too predictable and common within the series. for Gods sake, theres enough Ryu players on the planet as there is(even though more than half of them can’t play him right). Tools, tools, tools

I used to think yun was the strongest, nowadays Im not so sure. I think part of it is that the strongest choon ris are better than the strongest yuns. Not to mention those 3 chuns are arguably in the top 5 3s players. Just my opinion of course.

Kuroda makes most mid tier and up seem like god tier by his messianic 3s powers. I’m sure folks knew about triple tatsu before but he showed the world you could own fools with it on the regular, for example.

He picks high tier because he wants to get dat fight money. In his eyes Ken was more likely to bring in the fight money than Ryu.
Better question than the OP right here:
Daigo didn’t play Ryu in 3rd strike. Can anyone tell me why the fuck it matters? I’d like to see what everyone thinks.

Ryu with sa2 is top tier, haven’t you guys heard? Daigo picked Ken because he didn’t want to be cheap.

actually sir its pronouced Futbol. and yes he does.

Him and the rest of mad catz are tier whores, kens just too good on 3s.

He’s not American, so maybe yes.

Anyway, who said that Daigo is Ryu???

 • He played many characters in ST (which is a common thing for any ST players) mostly Ryu AND Boxer.
 • Gouki in A3.
 • Only Ken in 3S.
 • Ryu, Yun and Ryu again in SFIVs.

I love how just by being so extraordinarily talented, the game and tiers can actually change just for Kuroda. And then he takes his god-like skills and trolls the shit out of everyone in and out of the game. What other game has that shit? #BasedKuroda

Mmmm, funny. I recall the topic starter called Daigo a tier whore in the original post. It must’ve been a ninja edit or something.

If I recall correctly, Daigo experimented with a lot of (shoto looking) characters when he started 3S, like Ryu, Makoto () and Ken. I notice that Daigo is incredible at hit confirming (the number of false positives are very low), which is probably a reason he picked Ken.

Please just go away.

That’s probably what made him play SFxT.
