Thor is better than Tron, I think. He can actually zone, has 8-way airdash/flight and his lightning strike move in the air is hard to punish. He just has to watch out for Tron’s J. S. Still, we’re talking bottom 10 here.
Ironically, GR might actually win this matchup, as neither him or Thor has any move to really scare the opponent. Hard for Thor to get in on GR (and chipping him would take forever!), but he has a huge hitbox and a lot of health for GR to pick off.
I agree…GR is a good counter for some characters, but my problem is that he is free to virtually every good character in the game except Haggar. He does fine against lower tier characters that have mobility issues. EVERY team is better with powered up Hsien Ko assist.
Again, elaborate on Jill please. She has some stuff to work with and can reset effectively, but I feel she is generally worse than most pixie characters.
I have seen people use hsien ko effectively alot more then tron or ghost rider. Jill has some good moves that allow her to out-maneuver alot of the cast. The one with the most problems is Pheonix Wright which is sad since at release he had alot of potential which was stripped almost instantly. Imo the work put in for turnabout is no longer worth it no matter what.
Exactly why I said Hsien Ko assist benefits the entire cast in basically any matchup, hence why I don’t think she belongs at the very bottom. Ghost Rider, Tron and Thor are not likely to be used mainly for their assists. When Tron had her great assist, she was arguably a top 10 character despite having limited value on point. Of the characters in question, value as an assist gives Hsien Ko more of a dimension than the others.
All of these characters struggle on point to an extent and should not win against the higher tiers unless mistakes are made, so at that point, they are left to see who can beat each other and avoid the bottom of the barrel.
People who think MODOK is one of the worst characters in the game probably give him a quick glance, just go for Wesker because he is easier to understand.
Yes MODOK has issues with chicken-block, his somewhat slow mobility, and ground normals…but there are rewards for them. MODOK does incredible damage, he has a great throw range, decent assists, decent long range options, amazing runaway, incredible aerial normal(His j.L is one of the best normals in the game because of it’s mutiple hit aspect), and surpising safe offensive . He is also decent enough as a character get top 16 in a big major.
At worst MODOK would have to be at -C tier or Mid-low tier.
Anyway yes, she’s slow and has tons of trouble getting hits in. And when you do manage to start a combo, they don’t do much damage unless you spend a lot of meter. And there you go.
We’re just so incredibly stupefied that someone would say something that asinine and be serious. It’s quite obvious that you considered none of her tools.
She has speed, she has reset potential (high/low or left/right…rapid fire lights can sometimes beat out left/right mixup) and machine gun super DHCed into another super is good for catching people because of the invincibility, despite the lousy damage it does by itself. Is also good for team hypers, like Storm. She also needs a lot to go right to use all of these tools.
Compare to other pixies like say, X-23, where once she manages to break through and score a knockout, she can kill an entire second character for free! Or Wolverine, who despite being absolutely braindead, has the tools to be one of the best characters in the game. Or Magneto, who complements his rushdown with an effective zoning game.
I wanted to chime in and say that as a Thor player myself, I will say that Tron beats Thor hands down even with her nerfs. She has better and faster normals and air S ground bounces leading to high damaging combos while Thor has zoning, a command throw, and a level 1 command throw super.
Hsien-Ko is alright. Her normals are really good. Her damage output isn’t super high, but it’s workable if you do LLND combos.
She can’t maintain a relentless pressure due to her speed, but her footsies game has potential. You can always armor up to scare your opponents and do something. Chucking objects and throwing out gongs is at least something.
And of course, golden armor assist is always good.
Modok’s jamming bomb alone removes him from bottom 5. Jill being a bad pixie character still doesn’t make her a bottom five. It’s too bad they nerfed her before giving people a shot to really shine.
