Who's been to Gametown recently?

What games do they have there?

Gametown?!?! Wtf?!?!

CvS2 played regularly, MvC2 busted controls, A3 fine, possibly high damage setting, ST one token, 2I, SvC 2 tokens for no reason, TTT, KOF98 fastest timer setting, KOF2k3

I see I see, thank you for the information oh mighty ST Zangief master! =]

Damn, no 3S there still? Fuck, I was hoping to have a reason go to back there, however with KOF98, ST, TTT, and A3 still being there, that might justify them not having 3S. XTG, you wouldn’t happen to know if they actually do have 3S there do you? I remember hearing a rumor a longtime ago, that they did have 3S, just not in a cabinet because no one played that game there. Here’s hoping they do, cause that would make them THE only arcade in Seattle that had every game that matters in this scene.

no 3S but i suppose i can ask the owner about getting it…

honestly i wish i could just outright buy Gametown

I have this week off, so I’m going to check out a few of the arcades in the area, starting with Gametown tonight (Wednesday). I’ll stick around til at least 7p.m., later if I have people to play. Tomorrow, I might do South Hill Mall til about 5:30, but will definitely go to Gameworks til close. I could use some practice since the only “fighting game” I get regular competition on is Smash Brothers at Nintendo.

Good games to the guy I played at CvS2, even the two double KOs. I can’t believe I actually had fun playing CvS2.

So if Gametown were to get 3s, it seems like we could just forget Gameworks altogether and go to Gametown instead…right?

COME ON GAMETOWN GOGOGO 3S GO

long post, print out and read if you’re gonna take a shit

I brought Gametown up because they are only in need of one more game along with the fact that we used to run tourneys there back in the day. Now I dunno if they still have the same management that they did back when we went there so that’s another story. It’s a nice lil cozy arcade, I’ve got nothin but dope memories of that place. Also we dunno if with all the interest we show GW, that they’ll get the games we ask for, and if they’ll allow us to run tourneys there. A lot of it thus far seems to be “show interest, things will happen.” Which is cool cause it shows that there’s potential. But yeah man that’s why I was asking GT, hopefully there’s something that can happen there. There’s a lot of new people in the scene now, but no real place to build on that. Don’t get me wrong every Thursday night at GW is dope and I’m not writing them off, but I kinda hope at some point that monthly/bi-monthly tourneys can come back into play. Just seems like it could be easier to pull off at GT.

But yeah GT get 3S yes yes yes!

Gametown’s in the South Hill Mall? I don’t think I’ve ever been.

Gametown’s actually in Tukwila.

Oh, thanks. I misread Ondrej’s post.

KOF98, KOF 2003, MvC2, Darkstalkers, Street Fighter III New generation, CvS2, Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Tekken Tag, Rage of the Dragons, an Alpha 3.

damnit, why are games like these in such a sketchy location?

…sketch.

GG though, GG.

Wow, I just realized my office is only like a mile away from here. Does anyone even go there? I want some ST comp dammit. :frowning:

If Gameworks is really canning their Thursday night special, I will be heading back to Gametown.

EDIT-They have Rage of the Dragons?!?!? Maaaaaaaaaaan, I swear, all they need is 3S!!! Gogogogogo GT! They don’t even need Dark Resurrection as Seattle’s Tekken scene isn’t that big.

I’d defiantly be down for some ST and CvS2. And I’m sure we could get them to fix the MvC2 controls and hold tourneys.Edit: Plus, this might be better and easier to schedule for everyone. :lovin:

Also for those of you who haven’t been to GT, here’s why GT is dope…

-Stools
-Hella games (MK II cabinet was there last time I was there, please don’t act like you didn’t play MK II back in the day!)
-Snacks and drinks. Come on now, what beats a Strawberry Shortcake ice cream bar after Marvel 2? Nothing!
-Computer. (Dunno if it’s still there)
-Random tables (if you bring food you can eat!)
-Taco Bus. (For all you Mexican food lovers!)

Cons…
-Location, not much around there so usually when there would be tourneys there, it’d be really EASY to get bored.
-Really small.
-Controls. (From what I’ve heard anyway.)

I’m really not too sure why we all stopped going there way back when. It was a cool place, everyone there was nice. Machines were in nice order. They had mass games. Maybe it’s time to go back =/.

i can agree with that, i havent been there in…probably a month due to controls and KOF98 time issues…but really…its pretty much got everything id play

Do they still do the monthly high score tournamets for that chance to spin the wheel? That shit was tight. I have hella memories from there too! And does Mac still run the place? I remember bringing all my random CDs for him to copy onto his computer. Oh and lets not forget the Chris Pew moment lol.
