I think the owner is now some asian dude. He was there watching me play the guy the one night I went. CvS2 machine is still in really good shape, aside from the left side fierce punch dying randomly for a while. It was fine the rest of the night. The multi-game cab with Hyper SF2, ST, Darkstalkers 1, SFIII New Generation and other random games is in great shape and a really cool idea. They just need to replace New Generation with 3S. There were a lot of cabinets down when I was there, and no MKII in sight. Ever since I learned to play that game at Nintendo, I’d love to take some people on in MKII.
I think making tournaments happen should be focused on Gametown, not Gameworks. I would actually be willing to run them again. I still have stacks of filled out brackets from the 30 to 40 people tournaments I held back in the day. That shit was awesome.
I wholeheartedly agree with you Ondrej. I also think that if we’re to try to have tourneys somewhere, that it should be at Gametown. I suppose the only questions I have is…
-How do we go about doing that?
-How do we convince them to get 3S?
I just hope the Marvel controls (and whatever other controls are messed up) can be fixed.
I say we hold charity tourneys for them so they can buy/fix new machines. Let them know we’re serious.
Plus, unlike the corporate autistic kid that is Gameworks, they’re probably listen to us. When it comes to machines/tourneys/games we want and need.
