Super is definitely a more balanced, less swingy game requiring more correct and tighter decisions to win. That angry scar has its use tho cuz that shit has like 0 recovery and 0 startup. How else can you combo normals in it? It’s like free chance at extra damage. If that meter got full, i’d probably put it to use, especially if I know my opponent is salivating for a TU.
I agree with this. People give you shit because Sagat was a bit too strong in vanilla and it seems like you don’t like super because of it so people want to bring the noob hate on you. It doesn’t really matter because nobody’s going to play vanilla anymore so I’m not sure why people are giving you shit. To each their own, but I definitely have to say, as Sagat, your decisions are easier in vanilla.
Oh I guess you can’t say that in general. Because there is no PC version yet, those people don’t have a chance to play SSF4.
And there are enough people (me included) that simply won’t buy a console (because it’s nothing more than a pile of junk for them… just useless tech-crap) for this game. THIS would be crazy in their minds.
So you can’t call those people crazy. It’s not their fault that there is no release for their platform.
I give up on SF4PC. With my cable connection every single game is unplayable. I can’t get one game that actually resembles an arcade match. And I’m in NC. Just sad. I admit, I rage-quit not because of the player, but because of the horrible connection America has. So if you see TrifedotLifeXL playing…and if you have a 5 bar that drops 1 bar each game I will leave. If you have 5 bars solid, I will still leave. I main Akuma, and he will not survive online.
I give up.
I’m waiting until North Carolina gets fiber optic internet. Currently I’m boosting my internet connection with Time Warner.
Hopefully that works. Until then SF4PC is worthless.
If all fails, I will buy a Playstation 3. But I heard the 360 version has less lag.
Nice post. You sound like you know what you’re talking about and I am on this board to get perspectives like that.
I have to say though, I really don’t mind that they toned Sagat down and made him harder to win with.
I didn’t really play any of the games between Street Fighter II and Street Fighter IV. Sagat in IV seems pretty much like himself in SFII. Sure, he’s stronger and there are some differences, but overall, he’s got the same style. That’s what I want coming from Street Fighter II. My issue is just with the angry scar. Coming straight from Street Fighter II (by way of time machine or hiding in a cave I guess) the angry scar just doesn’t seem right. It’s not Sagat. Toning him down I’m cool with.
On top of the fact the the IV version was closer to the original Sagat then the SIV version there’s something else. Back in the day, Street Fighter was more grounded. Most of the fighters represented something real: karate, sumo, wrestling, kung fu, yoga, boxing, etc. Then, some of them had a fireball, or a yoga flame, or a sonic boom, or a torpedo, but most of the moves were kicks and punches and the fireballs, the dragon punches, all the special moves, they were really cool and a big deal. It was as if the fighters were made up of mostly quasi realistic stuff but then they had one or two special moves that were not believable but the special moves seemed to suit the characters and seemed to be well thought out artistically. They were awesome. Nowadays, we’ve had twenty years to get used to fireballs so most people don’t think they’re so cool anymore. I think that people naturally get used to things and then they want more. But eventually more just becomes tacky and crappy. I don’t want to see fireworks in the background when an Ultra is performed. Heck, I don’t even want ultras at all. I don’t want Ken’s hand to be on fire when he does a dragon punch. I don’t want to see the sky go dark, time stopping, Sagat turning toward the screen and lighting up, then turning back to his opponent, and then the fight continuing on. It’s just over the top and tacky. Know what I mean?
There was a time when it was two guys fighting, and one of them was a karate guy, and you thought it was really cool that he had so mastered his art that he could harness energy and throw some sort of fireball. Today’s kid wants to see a 35 hit combo with fireworks/strobes and flashing scars with time stopping. At a certain point it just becomes garbage bullshit.
Sagat in Street Fighter IV to me was much closer to Sagat in Street Fighter II. He’s a HUGE Thai fighter with an eye patch who can throw fireballs like our hero Ryu except he can throw them faster and he can throw them high and low. That was it, and that was bad ass.
how rare is 100mbit connection in america(fiber)?
AFAIK america have very slow and bad connections, which suprise me becuse america is suppose to be a “high-tech” country, but I think europe is many steps ahead
No it doesn’t. Please stop spreading misinformation. I have both (as well as for GFWL, via Steam), as do most people I play with. It is the same experience on either platform.
Not in the uk at any rate. Maybe the us have a higher ps3 to 360 ratio, but all I know is it’s more prone to lag on the ps3 here using the same connection.

I just went Super Saiyan 3.
LOL
Games are ALOT smoother now.
I’ll give SF4 another chance.
But if only I can fix my upload rate. I told my friend my score and he was like wtf are you downloading porn with torrents downloading at the same time? :wasted:
Idk, what your problem is. I live in NC and have Time Warner Cable internet, the basic package and rarely have a laggy match unless they player is from another country or the other side of the US, even then most of them aren’t laggy. Maybe it’s your PC or their PC not being powerful enough more than the internet connection. My gamertag is Jlive11 if you want a match sometime. I can’t see any reason why there would be any lag short of what I just said. I main Blanka. That bars don’t really mean all that much, a majority of my matches are against players with one to three bars but little to no lag. I’ve had people with full green lag really bad sometimes.
Yea, that’s plenty for SFIV, that doesn’t mean your opponent’s PC can keep up. I’ve had lots of matches with all green bars but it was laggy as hell because their PC was garbage. I don’t see how anyone can play in slow motion like that. lol My moves just won’t come out in those matches.
I play it almost everyday. I’m just sick of all the runaway shotos scrubs, runaway scrubs period. No one wants to actually fight anymore, and it makes the game lame as hell for the most part. I seriously don’t want to waste a minute of my life chasing you down so I can beat your ass anyway. I’m so sick of it I’ve been throwing matches when I see ******* doing that dumb shit. It just bores the hell out of me. This game rewards coward fighters way too much.
I also can’t stand idiots who play the match ups and spam their unpunished moves against your character. Nice Capcom, more spamming with overpowered characters is what Street Fighter needed for sure. Or, the constant grabbing, every noob on the planet is mashing the grab buttons like it’s going out of style. The grab system is completely broken in this game, you can be grabbed out of pretty much anything, and it’s fucking ridiculous. I guess they had to make it noob friendly in order to turn a profit though.
Shut your dumbass up, I’ve been playing fighting games since the early nineties. Mk, SF, SC, etc… Na, dur, I came here because of Tekken, obvious troll is obvious.
