Who Plays KOF The Best?

I can see that, dakou is more fun to watch but isn’t this what dark geese was talking about?! about match ups and who actually wins tournaments.

besides that video there’s also the SBO '07 where dakou lost to same guy that xiaohai later beat. I’m sure was the same guy but I can’t confirm it now. I don’t have real player install.

Yeah, and he’s wrong.

Yes, Dakou lost to Ching Lung/Cheng Long and Xiaohai beat him. Actually on GGPO, Dakou said he let Cheng Long win and I actually do believe him judging from how bad Dakou actually played in that match, but I have no idea why he would let him win.

This is utter BS I’m sorry but you never let someone win in a high level tournament. Anyone that believes that is full of shit. I guess Tom Brady and the Patriots “let the Giants win” the Super Bowl didn’t they?

Hell by that token hey Reynald and John I’m gonna say I let Reynald beat me in KOFXII Winners Finals, and oh yeah John, anytime you beat me in KOFXI I let you win too…you believe me?

If any of this shit was true, that would invalidate tournaments, which is what Emil is trying to do. What the fuck is the purpose of joining a tournament if you are gonna let someone else win? WTF is that about? Leave the sandbagging for casuals. You play to win.

Esp. at that calibur, level of play, and with the amount of people watching that match, with the amount of pride I am sure Dakou has (as arstal brought out before) you gonna tell me he let him win? Nope. He just got his ass kicked on camera and made an excuse about it otherwise and because you think Dakou=Chinese Jesus and Xiaohai=Chinese Holy Ghost you believe him.

I’m sure Ching Lung didn’t appreciate Dakou saying that and he’s gonna be out to embarass him even more the next time to prove it wasn’t a fluke.

And yes I am right, it is about matchups, so ruwaka just disregard Emil on this one please. (He’s gonna try to rationalize it but please just ignore it.)

What kind of an argument is that? Ugh, I won’t even bother to pick apart his silliness.

The difference is that it is obvious that Dakou was just…not even playing in that match. It’s not like he was completely locked down that he couldn’t move (in this case, it’s hard to tell if the one being locked down is good or not) but the dakou match was a lot different.

People have their reasons…maybe Dakou though Ching Lung deserved to win, maybe they arranged it beforehand, who knows.

Eh, those guys are good friends to my knowledge.

You remind me of a religious person that closes their ears and yells “I CAN"T HEAR YOU”

LOL Emil. You do the exact same thing. Maybe that’s why you’re reminded of it.

At first you were basing all your opinions off of online matches. Now you’re going by he said/she said. FORM YOUR OWN OPINION.

I’m not gonna bother replying to him on that…if I find something else worth replying to in his regard then I will, otherwise nah…I’ll focus on other things worthwhile like lets see-Once again setting these matches up! :lovin:

although I think that match was hella weird, I can’t believe dakou couldn’t do anything, like completely owned, sigh, xiaohai match was about to be exactly the same but then he stepped out of it with chris.

Dakou maybe the best kof 98 player in the world but if he can’t prove it in tournaments then in the end he really isn’t

not to say I’m not a fan of dakou but watching that match was fucking disappointing.

IMHO, a series of tournaments are the only way to see who is better in the long run, because when two people are so close to each other, one may win one tournament, the other the other tournament, so you need a series to determine who’s the best. (I say five tournaments at least)

Also wholeheartedly agree with Ruwaka. If he can’t prove he’s the best in tournaments then he isn’t the best in the world. People jockride Dakou just as much as they jockride Daigo saying Daigo’s the best SF player in the world though he doesn’t win all the tournaments in Japan and he isn’t the best player in Japan, it’s this type of stuff that goes overboard. Give them credit where credit is due, BUT DO NOT GIVE THEM EXTRA.

Yes, Dakou lost to Ching Lung/Cheng Long and Xiaohai beat him. Actually on GGPO, Dakou said he let Cheng Long win and I actually do believe him judging from how bad Dakou actually played in that match, but I have no idea why he would let him win.

Oh my fucking gawd…emil how the hell can u swallow that. The guy got his ass handed to him, I mean seriously the evidence is all there on camera…are you really in this much denial that Dakou got his ass raped?

Can I get a link of that?

The Dakou vs Ching Lung/Cheng Long video I mean…

KOF has match fixing.

Huh? When did I base any opinions off of online matches? The online results of Japan vs. Mexico just heavily supports my opinions.

This is obviously nonsense. I still fail to see your reasoning about tournaments here. A lot of the pro japanese players respect Kuroda as being the best in the world in 3S - how many 3S SBOs has he won (or any other big tournaments for that matter)? One SBO and probably very few big tournaments.

Dakou is the best in the world, and even though he has backed up his game numerous times in tournaments, he doesn’t NEED to be winning many (or any) tournaments to be the best.

If you analyzed the match for just a slight instant, you would notice that something was very different about the match.

Edit: I don’t want to link to the match because apparently linking SBO stuff here is forbidden.

I don’t think Daigo is the best in the world, but I don’t think this because he isn’t winning many tournaments. For instance, I consider Momochi to be better than Daigo, but it has nothing to do with who wins more matches overall, or more matches against each other, or more tournaments.

I just watched the Japan vs mexico online matches and a lot of those matches the Japanese were sandbagging hella and some of those matches were they play for reals with all the OCV’s you could tell that there was a huge gap in players skill.

Okay I’ve gathered what I need from this thread…everyone else should’ve gathered what they need from this thread as well. Thanks to those that have contributed to what I need in regards to who I need to talk to in order to bring over.

Everything else in this thread I don’t care about getting into a debate over…it’s all opinion based and the only way to counter opinions is to present facts. Please no one reply to what I’m gonna say trying to debate against what I say because I’m telling you right now it’s a complete waste of time. Some of you may enjoy these types of discussions going in circles back and forth, but not me. I’d rather focus on other things like actually setting up tournaments so that you all have something to actually talk about.

My last word this is coming from what I personally think- If you don’t win the best tournaments you can’t claim you are the best. The country may say you are the best because you perform the best in casuals, but if you choke when it counts are you really the best? Who’s gonna go down as the better quarterback Tom Brady or Peyton Manning? Right now Brady because he has WON MORE SUPER BOWLS. So the stats Peyton has can only take you so far, in the end how much you have won takes you further.

So sure others can be ‘respected’ as the best, but what holds the most weight? Who has won the most high level tournaments.

Also Best in Japan/Asia does not equal best in the world 100% all the time. If that was the case then how come BAS who is respected as the best CVS2 player in Japan hasn’t won every damn CVS2 tournament at EVO here in the states? Matter of fact I can recall BAS choking quite a bit at EVO and not winning though he’s the ‘best player in Japan.’

To go even further, Mid Tier in Asia does not mean you are better than everyone else in other countries, because if that was the case Mid Tier Chris Hu from China would’ve beaten Mr. KOF at EVO. I’d take Mr. KOF and Alexis over Chris Hu in 98 and 98UM in a heartbeat.

**THE FUCKING END. **(Do not reply debating with me EMIL you will be ignored I won’t get into some silly rocket science you can caluculate the proximity of the Earth’s atmosphere by watching match vids and analyzing crap debate.)

X20- While yes I saw the same thing you saw in that footage bottom line is that was online. Could the same happen in person? Yes…but before anyone could know for sure you’d have to play in person. Online has too many variables, with lag being the main one.

Because as I’ve already been saying, being the best does not mean winning every match or every tournament. And neither is winning any tournaments a requirement. I think you use tournament wins as your only way of measurement because you are too lazy (or unable) to sit down and carefully analyze matches and determine what actions of a player, makes them truly good.

ChrisHu is better than Mr. Kof in 98. Not sure about this Alexis guy.

Is this how you try to win/dodge debates? You say your final lines, then say “The end” and ignore any rebuttels?

Or…you could just notice that Mexico’s strategies online(displayed by those top mexicans, not the retarded lag abusing ones) are practically the same as offline and that Japan’s gameplay is already beyond those strategies. It’s not really that much different than seeing why say, a Japanese player wouldn’t lose to the common (online) Mexican strategy of doing whiffing jump attacks and throwing upon landing. They don’t need to play each other for you to know that Japan’s gameplay is far beyond those silly tactics. Now, offline top mexicans don’t use those silly jump throw tactics but the same thing applies.

Sidebets on Mr. KOF vs. Chris Hu in regular 98 anyone? I’ll take Mr. KOF for $100.

Emil I’m done trying to argue with you. It never ends, so why should it continue? This shit’s been going on for years, and it gets very old.

You say I dodge via relying on tournaments and not sitting at home watching match vids like you. I say you dodge via NOT GOING TO TOURNAMENTS. This debate is pointless.

I will set this match up if Chris Hu is actually gonna play.

Go ahead hold Chris Hu to the fire Emil because I’m gonna set this up and Mr. KOF is gonna know about it.

If Mr. KOF wins Emil you gotta shut up about the pointless Asian dickriding. If Chris Hu wins then I admit you are right that anyone that hails from Asia has been blessed by GOD himself . If Chris Hu REFUSES/chickens out you must admit I am right…(Mr. KOF won’t back down!)

Those are the stipulations.

John I know you down to Money Match Chris Hu!

1. Mr. KOF vs. Chris Hu in regular 98 at Raging Storm El Paso.
2. Chris Hu vs. Alexis in regular 98 at Raging Storm El Paso.

This will be titled The EMIL Challenge.

We can’t stop Asian dickriding Geese. If we do, most asians will never have sex again! Besides with their weird ass lolishotamaximumtentacles or whatever god forsaken sex they have in Japan. But seriously, these are going to be some nice brawls.

Mr. KOF embarrassed Chris Hu in KOF 98UM at EVO World.

Just to remind everyone remember this?

Chris Hu came in all cocky saying we all didnt know how to play KOF and got taunted + his ass raped.

Alexis beat Mr. KOF in 98 OG 3-2, but Mr. KOF beat Alexis in 98UM 3-0.

Mr. KOF vs. Alexis in OG 98:

Mr. KOF vs. Alexis in 98UM:

And I know I know Emil, by analyzing these matches and the circumference of the Earth- CHRIS HU SHOULD WIN EASILY AGAINST BOTH OF THEM RIGHT?

i am down to play Anyone in KOF for respect or money. i can beat anyone because i’ve put in work at the arcades and invested time into tournaments. i’ve got my medals and streaks.

You know EMIL sucks as a player if he thinks Chris Hu is better than me.
Chris hu is a “good” player but i cannot say that he is better than me.

Don’t show that Geese, now Emil is going to be muey triste.
