I’ll post what I think of the matches sure… But I still think discussing matches doesn’t solve the “Who’s better” argument. Only playing in person solves that. So sure I’ll discuss the matches, but IMO it’ll end up the same as it would when we discussed the Hammer/Blowback/Osmani/NUTS matches in the 2k2UM thread…it’d be hard for all of us to see eye to eye…
Which just means it has to be played out… So this is all just water cooler talk…
I mean quite frankly the existence of this thread to me is one big flamebait. I’d rather focus on what I’m doing right now which lets see what is that-
Planning tournaments for:
Juarez, El Paso, Tijuana, Monterrey, Mexico City, possibly Toronto, Los Angeles, Guadalajara, Las Vegas, possibly Reynosa, Veracruz…
**
So while you all are sitting here talking about this I can actually FIND OUT the answer.**
It’s a good thread, just never really gets executed properly because most people don’t actually post matches and analyze stuff. Instead, egos get hurt and people get mad.
I’ll respond to this actually Emil. I disagree, the only person that posted the most valid information in this thread in regards to who is currently better than someone else is Dandy J.
Now don’t get me wrong Emil I respect that you are a good online player. I respect that you know your KOF. But by that same token respect that you and me see things differently, you play online, I play offline, so we are going to see things differently.
It’s people like ME that make it POSSIBLE to post up match vids from youtube and analyze stuff. Without people doing like me, YOU ALL WOULD HAVE NOTHING TO ANALYZE.
So keep all that in mind…while I continue to go forward making tournaments in Mexico and even eventually into Brazil and Argentina…which will give you all more to discuss…
Plus there is always the Mexico vs. Japan issue, (which I even have a name for this tournament already!!!) and I want Mexico vs. Brazil to happen, so keep in mind it’s better for me to NOT get sidetracked by these discussions and get to work!
What does this mean? Tournaments are the BREAD AND BUTTER of EVERYTHING…
Let me let you all in on a secret, starting January 1st I will be funded for all my trips to do tournaments (should they get APPROVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS)…I have CORPORATE FUNDING NOW…So making these tournaments happen is A REALITY…IT WILL BE MY FULL TIME JOB…
I am the President of the Gaming Division for LDA Inc, so it LITERALLY IS MY JOB NOW TO BRING MONEY TO THE COMPANY VIA TOURNAMENTS AND GAMING.
No you have it all wrong. My view is not based at all on online play in the slightest, it is based on the highest level offline play. I’m just someone that uses what they have learned, to play online.
Understand that. But like I say we see things differently and lets just leave it at that.
Ugushi doesnt like to be recorded remember? 1up has told me all about his time in Japan about how sooo many matches were happening and they told him NOT to record…Hammer didnt care about getting recorded but the others didnt want to and neither did Ugushi…so what about tournaments Ugushi wins that DON’T GET RECORDED???
Tournaments are still the bread and butter of everything. But like I say we just see things differently… Also the highest level offline play is based on what? Tournaments…so it still goes back to tournaments. Casuals are great but they are just that- Casuals…they dont count for much at all.
Whats SBO? A tournament.
Duelling the KOF? A tournament.
The Great Battle? A tournament.
Most of those matches on your youtube channel? Tournaments.
I’m with the people saying that we can’t answer this question without having one huge tournament with the best players from every top country. Online always has the risk of lag.
Well, looks like I have something to look forward to.
You know, an analysis will be too hard and long…however, I am uploading some new kof2k2 matches from a recent TRF tournament and they are very good. There’s a lot of things being done here (intricate combos and overall some situations involving really good reaction) that just are very rare to see in Mexican matches.
No, I was actually told he has probably entered only one tournament…this is coming from DUne himself, though he didn’t tell me that directly.
HOw many japanese matches have you seen, and of which players? Japan has some of the best and most complicated offenses.
What you’re describing is probably Pakistan-style offense - players not wanting to give anything away, afraid to take any action and instead create walls of high priority pokes. Generally lacking in creativity and imagination.
Oh I will, that’s my point, I could immerse myself into this topic, or I could actually CONTRIBUTE TO IT far better by actually getting out there setting the shit up.
While this may be true Emil, bottom line still is tournaments are the most consistent and effective way to gauge who is the best player overall. Just like you told me in the matches online, people play differently in casual matches compared to TOURNAMENTS…
I knew where he got that information from, I do my research thoroughly so I know where he got that from, but the irony is even in that thread there is quite the dissention among what people think if you are reading the Spanish…
Dude so when are you going to take 1 of these mexico women as you’re wife, come back to SRK with the true glory of mexico lol. Ill examine that jap match emil, just gotta finish up some stuff at work first.
