Who Plays KOF The Best?

Desmond- There is no Official KOF World Cup, problem is people **assume **that’s SBO (Remember its EURASIAN ONLY EVERYONE IN KOF THAT IS!) when Latin America isn’t even present. I have presented I believe enough evidence to lead people to believe that SBO is not the end all be all of KOF competition in the world, so I want to be the one to hold this KOF World Cup, and I want it every year because stuff changes every year.

Duelling the KOF is mainly Japan vs. Taiwan and a few other countries, I have yet to find a tournament that caters to Asia AND Latin America, and that is the problem!!! (A problem which I wish to solve!)

In 2011 me and Dune have agreed JuareZ WarZone 2011 will be a Duelling the KOF Qualifier, we have also agreed Duelling the KOF for the first time ever next year will include Mexico into it’s lineup (those that Qualified from JuareZ WarZone 2011); and Abraham will be going to the World tournament we are doing next year in Morocco.

Latin America isn’t there because it chooses not to be. It’s not like they exclude any country from coming to SBO.

But that’s not what I have heard Anakron, especially coming from prominent promoters in Mexico (Some have tried to contact the SBO personnel about this as recent as late 2009!). However; I am going to change that, that is my goal, to have them include Mexico into the mix, but it has to start slowly with Duelling the KOF, and then possibly SBO.

One thing I believe DTKOF has over SBO is that it caters to the games Latin America plays as well, it doesn’t just upgrade the roster every year even if certain games have a draw, for example, KOF 2002 OG is still in DTKOF, meaning they will ALWAYS get a Mexican invite (the rest of Latin America for now) to go to DTKOF, but SBO?

This year KOF 2002 UM Tougeki, next year what?

So maybe after thinking about things, DTKOF is the best bet, because certain KOFs will be there EVERY YEAR, and after all, DTKOF as Dune has said himself, IS THE BIGGEST KOF TOURNAMENT IN JAPAN.

So maybe this should be our place to be hands down.

I do prefer SBO myself, but DTKOF is still a very respected and good fit for the latino’s to get in. I hope it works as a stepping stone, cause it would be sweet to see the latino’s rocking SBO KOF:nunchuck:

That’s once again EVO, Assuming SBO is willing to at least keep ONE KOF circulating or repeating every year, I was talking to Mr. KOF about this very thing last night, SBO for the MOST PART just puts whatever new games are out there (sans 3rd Strike) every year, and by the time the games get very very competitive throughout the year in the whole world, the game is removed from SBO’s roster.

This has to change and much of Latin America still plays 2002 OG, 98 OG, and many of the older KOFs. I mean what’s next for KOF at SBO? KOFXIII next year? If that’s the case me, Reynald and John should go hahahaha.

why dont you train up for sbo.

In the Northwest we are gonna be doing big things for KOF XIII cause both the Portland tilt and the Seattle Gameworks are getting KOF XIII. I’m gonna be in talks with Gameworks for big tournaments for KOF XIII and will also be going to Canada to get some of the Taiwan and HK players to come down for the tournaments.

I need to get back into KOF. I know I’m not as good as I was but I think with this GGPO stuff I think I can get the hang of it again. That and finding some tourneys in NY if they exist. Then hopefully go to a place like Mexico and take on some players there.

Actually, I’m trying to run some KOF side tourneys at http://shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=222564&page=1 .

I know for a fact Chris Hu will be there and I even got him to play with us in a small 2002um tourney at a local and I will try to get him to play in this one as well!

“Biggest” is kind of misleading. It doesn’t represent all the best players…anyone can join there without having to qualify, to my knowledge, while SBO contains the very best of the best because they have to win qualifiers in their region. Duelling is a more “for fun” kind of tournament than SBO is.

Competition-wise, SBO is better than Duelling the Kof.

Why should I Rorick? I hope you are reading what I have posted, SBO is not the main goal for me or anyone else right now. SBO has shown us no loyalty right now, Duelling the KOF has show us the loyaltly we need, so right now SBO is not even close to a focus for me Rorick. I’d rather train up for Duelling the KOF should I choose to enter that when we have it next year than even be remotely concerned with SBO.

As I say you all are missing the big point I’ve posted above about SBO rotating games all the time, SBO has all the hype, but Duelling the KOF has OUR loyalty with Dune, which is where I’m sticking to.

I can’t say much about SBO vs. DTKOF myself. Though, there are a few things that I feel I should say. SBO’s KOF players are not necessarily the best of the best. There may be other talents around the World that haven’t attended SBO and for all we know. Also, how do we know that all of the best have attended SBO? Does them qualifying mean that the top players are not at DTKOF? How would it affect the rankings and such if top players attend both SBO and DTKOF? Now, I won’t so much about that otherwise.

Now, I also have some news. This isn’t official, but you might be interested. You may have heard the tournament, Mexico vs Panama. Well, they’re trying to get Hammar over there. According to Dune, whom I’ve talked to personally, he is ranked as number 20 in KOF2002. Now, if Mexico does well against him (If Hammar does decide to go), I think we can agree that they can stand at least stand a chance against the 20th best of KOF2k2.

Ah, one more thing. This is up for you to decide my friend. Well, I talked to Dune about Bata and he stated that Bata said he was use to using the type of stick they were using. That is why he didn’t bring his own stick himself. Now, I’m not saying this didn’t affect him in a negative way, but I think it isn’t as severe as some make it out to be. Anyhow, these are just my thoughts. I hope things can be compromised between everyone. I’m sure we’re all tired of fighting like this, so in the end, things may go well. All in all, I think all I’d like to see is now is a truce.

Because I’m just curious and I didn’t see much matches with him in his own channel during the Juarez tourney. Dark Geese, where would you rank yourself among the Mexicans in KOF2k2?

I also noticed they pay 2k2 more than the UM version. Is there a reason why?

All I was saying was that Duelling the Kof can have top players but also some average players, while SBO will generally have a stronger player base among the players that have qualified.

That’s not what he told me…he said he made a mistake about not bringing it (that he might have forgotten), and that he was having trouble with the sticks and that fact is not being mentioned in the videos.

Cibernetico, I do not play 2002 anymore really so they are better than me in that game. I focus on 2002 UM, 98UM etc, mainly and I think I can play with the best in Juarez in 2002UM and 98UM. (And certainly in KOFXI I can I think I’m back to #3! KOFXII? LOL I’m #1 lol.)

Also there was no tournament, Kula didn’t show up, like always…there were money matches and casuals etc. And sexy Hispanic women spending time with me off camera… =)

They play 2002 more than UM for various reasons:

  1. They have been playing 2002 for years and years hardcore
  2. 2002 UM is still new to them, some just got the arcades, but their level of play in the game is still very good!!!

Also FYI everyone, I am gaining new contacts, thanks to 1up, have access to Korea now and the tops in Korea, and they are aware of what I am doing.

Ontop of this now I have an opportunity to have another Mexico vs. Japan tournament in D.F. June 17th because of this following email:

http://cyberfanatix.com/forums/index.php/topic,1005.new.html#new

Yeah so my hard work on JuareZ WarZone is paying off, it has made it where things like this are falling into my lap.

About Mexico vs. Panama:

We have options between Salado possibly, Hammer, and other options from Korea that have just been given to me.

good to hear that pal! just remeber to tell them to bring their own stick so maybe this time the badmouthes will shut the hell up…

Fiol- Oh he will know to bring his own stick this time should he play other games besides 2002 like 2002 UM, 98 UM etc, this way we don’t hear any BS on this site or any other site and it will give people less of a reason to be in denial should things not happen the way they PREDICT they will happen… (Rolling eyes)

Really? That’s weird… I was told he decided not to bring it and Dune said that to me… Maybe he misspoke? Oh well… If Hammar does come, they’ll make sure he brings the stick. That way, we can be on the safe side of things.

Siberianhusky, just talk to Dune again, TELL HIM WHAT EMIL SAID HE SAID ( I did it to which Dune said he told Emil many times that Bata forgot to bring his own stick and was told to bring his stick countless times), get his reply, and end it at that! Emil at times tries to twist things, ask Dune one more time just to make sure Emil isn’t twisting things to be a he said she said thing so that Emil can believe whatever the hell he wants, remember who you are dealing with- Emil will twist it so that he can believe whatever he wants…and that is the truth, doesn’t matter if I say it, Lecter says it, or Dune, doesn’t matter…he will believe what he wants to believe…

And will twist things so that in his own mind he can believe that the only way a Japanese player would’ve lost is because of some “problem”, you know no way Mexicans could beat Japanese players up front…well whatever 3 weeks and everything begins anew…More Emil debates but hopefully less IGNORANT people on SRK talking shit about something they do not know about…

Um…

He told me that only once, and what you said is what I said - that he didn’t bring it because he likely forgot and that he made a mistake (he thinks).

You’re wasting your time.

I don’t like quoting personal e-mails so I’ll only quote part of it:

“I heard from Bata that he didn’t use Japanese stick.
I think that he couldn’t play KOF well with Mexican sticks.
And I think that this fact isn’t mentioned in youtube or many video-sites.
But… although Dark Geese told him to bring Japanese stick to Mexico , he didn’t bring it. He forgot bringing.
It was only his mistaking , I think.”

I’m not going to become like you, sorry.
