Who Plays KOF The Best?

The same reasons why you are wanting to get Hammer to Mexico or Buchecha. It costs alot of money to travel on a whim to a tournament. SBO has held spots of other countries to participate in their comps. Tekken and 3s has had AUS teams there before and same with the US team. To apply for that, the respected countries hold nationals to determine the best team possible. Why would the host country have more international players the the home??

Another gripe I have is that I dont see Mexico doing anything about it in regards to trying to apply for SBO or making their own comp and inviting others down (exclude what you are trying to do now). I know it like “easier said then done” but there is no push in the the South American camp that look determine to squash the “better then asia” debate. They seem more then happy to play the way they are now. In fact you DG are the only one taking a full force at people having an opinion about a player whether they be asian, south american or whoever. Like, match analogy does exist and whether or not you take people opinion on it is up to you. Some people call them critics but in any sport you have then commentators or analyst that know what they are going on about. I dont how its any different from this where people can physically see a difference in play when comparing another. You host a heap of vids on your channel which are from tournament and what not, and you can tell that the level is not good. Sometimes Im like “has this person even played before?” and you cant tell me that “he is actually good, but the vid isnt showcasing that” because that being naive.

Also, reading some of your past post, your logic is not realistic. I do agree that someone can win a comp but not necessarily the best if other good players are not present. To some degree, that true but what you are saying is that until he / she play ALL of the great players in the world, that person cant be considered the best in the world. Thats not going to happen and you know it.

  1. I understand that. So even with the limitations they cannot call it the “World Championship” then…its more like the Eurasian Championship.

  2. a. Yeah this is why I am making sure to make this happen by getting people from all over to come play, because it seems that no one is taking initiative to say this, so I will tell you now, it is my own personal goal as Ive stated before to make my own “SBO” so to speak, a World tournament of sorts, with Qualifiers in different countries so that many can fight it out for the one spot or so…that is what all of this really is leading into.

2b. I understand about the commentators, that’s fine I have no problem with that, it’s just people have to understand that there’s more than what you see on videos…

  1. Yes that probably won’t happen, thus you can’t say worlds best! However with that said, I am going to do my best personally to make that happen! That is my goal in all of this…to get to the bottom of it…I cannot stand the “Asian Bias” and I don’t like the Nationalism bias of anyone, I’d rather give everyone a “wakeup call” and show that there’s talent everywhere.

So in conclusion, though it may be hard to play the top players everywhere, they shouldn’t say “World Championship” if that’s not what it is. Say “Eurasian Championship”…since 90% of the countries are from the continent of Eurasia.

So basically you are saying that analyst / commentators cant do their job because they either havent played them or dont physically know what is going on in their heads?

The reason why I personally think SBO is considered a “world” championship is that
A) - there has never been a large sponsored / professionally setup comp for KoF outside of Asia.
B) - Not just KoF but in sf3 / sf4 etc, SBO has proven that they are superior because they have beaten US, UK, AUS etc best in the respected game. Name a game that an international country has won??

Until I (I think I speak for other here too) see a more established tournament for KoF with proper seedings / team selections and attendance then SBO, SBO to me is considered the current world comp. If you sucessful make someone as big as Evo / SBO for Kof that features players from all over the world that are considered “great”, that is when I will change my mind.

  1. I take commentators with a grain of salt because they aren’t actually there/doing what the players are doing. Even the retired ones don’t know 100% exactly what’s going on like the actual players do…

So I listen to them, but take them with a grain of salt.

  1. Understand that, but I still feel it’s just the Eurasian Championship because it does not include other countries. It is my goal to put that to an end, because I know many other countries that want the opportunity to prove their worth. Until SBO decides to include South America and other countries into the mix, I will not consider them a World Championship…only Eurasian Championship.

For SF I can’t comment on that because I dont folllow SF, but for KOF theres certainly more players than those found in Eurasia…

I really dont think you get my point. Ill leave it at that…

I understand what you are saying 100%, just have a different POV, but then again I’m the one trying to make the True SNK World Championship happen.

Well until that happens dont get upset with people making assumptions on who they think is good or not.

I’m not getting upset…like I say I just take it with a grain of salt because as I said most of these people aren’t the ones actually playing…nor are they travelling for that matter…

The only place you travel to outside the US is Mexico and that’s like what a 5 or 6 hour drive for at the most . Traveling means going to other places like Japan,Europe,China and South America etc…

For me on the other hand I go to Japan once a year and travel to Richmond,Canada 3 or 4 times a year to play with the HK players up there at the E.spot

Travelling is a subjective term you know…in other words your definition is different than mine.

Plus the only place I travel is not about to be just Mexico. I’ll be all over the world come beginning of next year (Mexico, Brazil, Panama, Canada possibly, China, Japan, Korea, Chile, Morocco, Colombia etc.)

Maybe the better approach is to guest prominent Japanese/Asian players to travel to Mexico?

Probably easier and cheaper to fly the SBO champion around the world to different countries, rather than trying to fly a bunch of players from around the world to japan?

Thats where I’m going actually…I got a thread with Mexico v Japan…practically its starting with bringing Hammer (#2 in Japan in KOF 2002) to Mexico for a throwdown, it’s starting with that, but it’s gonna become something much much bigger.

You gotta start somewhere though. I know for a fact it’d be easier for the Japanse to come here…he Yen is worth more than both the dollar and peso right now, so it’d benefit the Japanese in both aspects.

Hey speaking of tournies, have u ever come down to the toronto tournies they have each year…there is like this 1 major they have every year. I don’t know if they have SNK games in it though, but I figured there must be some good SNK players that come out for tournies.

yea yasanagi is an awesome SNK player in the toronto area

Typically, the T tournaments focus heavily on Capcom games. I can’t remember if an SNK game actually got featured as either a main or side event in the T series.

yessterday(??) and xiaohai(??) play the best of kof98…
there are both from guangzhou china…

dont know whos the best of kof02 player …japanese i guess

the news are the 02um China champion ship is from HK, VERY GOOD ANGEL PLAYER

He had a nice come back against ET and baozi (who beat japanese in a tournament in 02um)

xiaohai already not the best kof (um) player,

The sad thing they play too much OG 98 02

It’s on the agenda…if not I am considering my own SNK Major in Toronto…so it’s being planned don’t worry. I just have to pace myself and that’s that I’m doing right now.

Well I’m looking into my own series in Toronto…

I don’t play a lot of KOF cause no one in San Diego really plays it (even though we’re RIGHT fucking next to Mexico) but I love watching it.

And just based off matches I’ve seen it feels like China/HK are the best. Their gameplay just seems more tight/concise compared to the other countries.

Also can someone do me a favor and list all the good players to watch in each game? Like I said I don’t play much but I love watching it. Only players that I can put in youtube off the top of my head are Dakou, Xiaohai, Oogosho, and Kyabetsu. Good Mexican players too plz!

Thx:angel:

There’s many players to mention but here’s a few from a variety of games:

Kyabetsu, Dakou(CH), Xiaohai(CH), Cheng Long(CH), Nobu, Oogosho, 777, Jojo, Kyokugendoa, Cap, Kyappu, ASANO=C, Naruto, Hammer, Hiroto, Raian, Kikko, Gaku, Dune, many more

from Mexico, look for Abraham, Khannibal, Kula, Osmani, Esteban

I highly suggest checking out the new KCE(Kof Crazy Encyclopedia) matches I put up:

mostly all Japanese players.
