abel, elf, rufus and viper… I guess also sakura after watching evo =). Seth’s mixup game isn’t anything special.
I have a pretty good mix-up game with Rose constantly dashing, jumping, weaving in and out, circling my opponents, crossing up… Well, there’s a lot that I do. To the foe(who is not AI), its complete bullshit and they call me super scrub, but deep down I know, after I ask God that I am an ok person.

i think geif is one of the nastiest characters in terms of mixups, a very agressive ryu can be a contender ( poongko ).
Abel has a pretty damn annoying mix-up game cause if you guess wrong, you get knocked down, only to deal with, another mix up starting off with a cross up D:.
El Fuerte’s is good, but there are some characters that can deal with his mix up’s efficiently (Dhalsim, even Zangief to some extent cause he can jump away and if you’re even sliding at all once he lands, you only get grabbed :<).
I think Dhalsim deserves a mention, maybe not the best mix-up game, but his ultra is the only one capable of being usuable as a mix-up, plus his teleport used with yoga fire :x.
heck, eventually more than half the cast will be listed here cause a lot of characters have good mix-up’s, except for a few characters like Rose <.<.
Valle didn’t even attempt to reversal DP, not trying to down play Sabre’s technique but it won’t work all the time. Neutral jumping usually gets one off the hook.
no Cammy love ???
she actually have quiet a good mix-up, unfortunately most of it can be countered by :db:
i vote 'Geif and Gen.
their mix-up game is there and only gets deadlier with as the game plays out (meter builds).
edit: forgot fuerte. mentioned in order of most to least, IMO.
lol Fuerte’s whole game is nearly 100% based on mix ups. After him the field gets a little hazy because there are several good characters with awesome mix up games. Akuma, Gen, and Viper to name a few.
I would definitely put Abel and Akuma near the top due to their good resets as a form of their mix ups in addition to their normal set of mix ups. C.Viper is right up there with them.
Flowchart Kens have the best mix ups. You never know if they’re gona sweep, throw, shoryuken, or random ultra
its really hard to reverse dp the corner mixup i have, not even auto correction helps a lot of times. sometimes its best to try and block
Yeah. And will everyone read this please ignore the neutral jumping idea, that’s probably the very worst thing you could do in that situation. I mean really, I’m trying to think of a worse option but I don’t think I can. Letting go of the joystick side wouldn’t be any worse of an idea.
So with Gief against lots of characters, after knocking the opponent down Gief can always jump from the same spot, and depending on whether he does regular jump or short jump, fierce splash or short knees, and an air attack timed 2-3 frames earlier or an air attack timed 2-3 frames later, he’ll end up on different sides and you’ll have to block his air attack different ways. It’s impossible to see what he’s going for and there’s absolutely nothing you can do to stop the splash (Gief’s meaty games beat all of many characters’ wakeup options), so you just have to make a straight 50-50 guess on which way to block. Guess wrong and you lose 200+ damage and have to deal with the exact same situation again. Guess right and your reward is to block and have Zangief on the ground right next to you, where he can start doing low shorts to beat jumps/reversal inputs, command grabs, or nothing in order to bait a punishable reversal attack. Guess wrong here and you lose 200-600 damage and have to deal with the exact same situation again.
Bottom line, nobody else has that kind of dominant up-close mixup game. Nobody else has such damaging consequences for a single incorrect guess and nobody uses his mixups to put the opponent right back into another mixup better.
My thoughts exactly. Some characters have good mixup - but none are as fatal as The Red Cyclone’s
Neutral jumping works against her jab cross under reset. By the way, a worse option would be trying not to reversal DP.
Rose has good mix-ups. YJDK.
Its hard to reverse dp those walk under front or back resets if you try to actually reverse dp like a somewhat intelligent street fighter player, with a srk motion in the direction you think she is going to go.
However if you just wiggle the joystick like a retard from DF to DB DF DB DF DB DF DB DF DB and bash the button as fast as you can, you’ll reverse them every time, regardless of what side she walks to. One of the many REALLY AWESOME FEATURES of street fighter 4.
If you try to neutral jump you are going to eat the combo for free dude, I dunno what kind of sakura you are playing if you can just jump up. In what world can you jump out of a meaty attack?
I don’t know, after Evo there have been hordes of Sakura’s trying to copy Sabre online, and neutral jumping kills their mix up game every time I’ve tried.
I don’t know how many frames it takes to be considered airborne, but I’m just going with what I’ve witnessed 1st hand.
Though they are trying to copy him, it sounds like they are failing
Akuma has great mix up options from his demon kick, dive kick into bnb, throw if they are likely to block, punch to cancel it in mid air then throw or just surprise them with the basic sweep.
