Who else is done with eventhubs?

OH MY GOD LOGIC!

KILL THEM WITH FIRE

And I’m the guy who posts most of them! LOL! But let’s see if I can fix the Eventscrub LianghuBB over-saturation.

I do remember the MK vs SF episode of Fighterpedia was posted on SRK News but it was overwhelmed the next day with SFxTK drama or some such.

I beg to differ. Allow me to present my first piece of evidence:

I’ll admit that as much as we writers try, we can’t really cover everything and that our own personal preferences for games can affect what we post since it’s more likely that we’ll check the sites dedicated to those (e.g. Angelo doing Skullgirls stuff, me doing more DOA or GG news).

Also, we are trying to be more professional and, aside from trying to focus on actual news over videos (at least in my case) we’re trying to schedule stuff so news doesn’t just get buried under a mountain of new posts.

You gotta take the good with the bad.

Personally, whenever there’s too much bad shit being tossed around, I go back to my home in Tech Talk so I can just look at all the good/amazing shit that people there are doing for the community.

An we have some idiots an children to boot… like every community.

I see it’s serious Wednesday here on SRK today. I’ll return tomorrow.

Nah you good. i laughed cause i know our ‘other side’ is just…i cant describe it.

Kotaku is feminist nazi assholes that hate the FGC.
EventHubs is an FGC front to Kotaku.

That is all.

My problem is that the site is host to a lot of non-news articles that are there for curiosity clicks (I’m trademarking that phrase) or just boobs ala a DeviantArt article. The comments don’t add very much either.

I used to have a Yahoo mail account and aside from Yahoo mail being a lot slower compared to Gmail and other minor issues. I hated having to go to the Yahoo website and being pelted with obnoxious ads and news articles written by 16 year olds. If I go to a website for one thing (Mail, Fighting Game news, etc) I don’t want to wade through pointless bs.

I get the site needs ad revenue but this isn’t the way to do it. I know a couple of newspapers that tried to go this route and they weren’t too successful. What makes you guys think that an even more niche site would be successful at this?

Don’t worry, I downloaded an adblock detection blocker

The only problem I have with sites forcing me to view ads is that I have never intentionally clicked an ad, and never will. In fact, I already have “ad blindness”, which means my mind automatically blocks out anything that looks like an internet advert. So forcing someone like me to watch ads is really fucking stupid.

Anyway, installing noscript kills their adblock detector. It’s not a Javascript-heavy site anyway.

EH isn’t even relevant.
I mean, EH articles are this…

33.3% - random bullshit, like “who’s your favorite SF character?” or "Check this fan art out!"
33.3% - Copy and paste from Capcom Unity or SRK, 1-2 days after the original was posted, aka outdated shit I read elsewhere. (EDIT: Add ATP, Dust Loop, Tekken Zaibatsu, etc. to that list)
33.3% - Complaints. More right after VXG and the collusion nonsense too.
0.1% - Worth reading.

I give props to EH for their hustle, they saw the SF4 cash cow and decided to jump on the bandwagon, and with minimal cost they just copied SRK.

What EH didn’t anticipate however, is that at the end of the day there is no benefit whatsoever to browsing EH over SRK unless you’re a fag of course.

Isn’t Gootecks one of the owners of EventHubs?

I like to think EH is the serebii as SRK is to smogon

Gootecks died when he quit 3S.

Keep your Pokemon bullshit in the Pokemon thread.

Man, he got Tatsu’d to death by JROD…

Urien gets bodied by tatsus if they can’t parry. Since Gootecks is Gootecks… And JR is JR… we all know how that shit turns out.

Funny thing is that you can use Tyrant Slaughter to punish Tatsu on block… Who’da’ guessed?
