Oddly enough, if someone is consistently beating my Dan or Adon, or both, when I use Mak I will most often win. Yet my win rate with her is absolute crap compared to Dan and Adon.

Must be that at that point I’ve gotten a good read on them, which is what you need with Mak.

I think there are 2 reasons to why I haven’t picked up a second character.

  1. I fear they will turn out better than my Makoto. I remember getting fed up against a friend who mained Juri one day. I picked Juri and dominated them with nothing but basics, while my makoto couldn’t beat them period.

  2. I constantly think that the time spent on a different character is lost time with Makoto.
    Honestly, Mak has become my favorite character in fighting games. I only played Street Fighter for the longest time because a few friends did. But now, I find it hard to go back to other fighting games. It’s very hard for me to get hype for SF X Tekken, since Tekken was my favorite fighter and Makoto is not in the crossover as of now.

But I have to say, I’m seeing a lot of problems in my game right now, and I think learning the game from a different perspective may help. Sorry, this thread may be old, but I’ve been thinking about this topic a lot recently.

I used to Ken when SF4 was out in arcades. I switched to Sakura when SF4 hit consoles. I then switched to Makoto when SSF4 hit because she was my main in 3S, so I guess Sakura and Ken would be my seconds.

Akuma, he was my main but I hate his health,.and I hate playing gay so sitting back zoning wasn’t my style do I get damage pretty quick

Since I’m used to mobile characters, Adon/Juri, I need to get used to Makoto feeling like walking in quicksand all the time.
Everything else though, the damage, the tricks, her MP, etc are some good.
