The real entertainment has arrived.
You forgot back-dashing to eat the claw strike and set-up Vega for a harder izuna on the next attempt. I think Sagat can afford that 90 damage for a chance at raping 25% of your health or more in one go. >_>
First, as u said in the last sentence of this post “also please note: its not an fba game, Izuna drop game on Sagat’s Knockdown” The only reason I said FBA game was b/c in ur previous post u said u found EX FBA to be useless against sagat players, since it isn’t scary. Which I agree on that.
Now then:
I’ll explain 1 and 2. Example of vid of Makoto vs Ojiboy @ 6:36 (I believe he could of Izuna dropped him if it wasn’t Ojisanboy =D)
1st. A late TU is gonna lead sagat being slammed to the ground. So there is no such thing as late TU. There’s only 1 possibility a late TU can connect. And that’s when the vega player makes a mistake on his timing for his jump to the wall NOT for the Izuna drop. There’s really only two outcomes I can see for Izuna drop attempts. Either get hit by a TU or get dropped by vega. A caliber such as makoto, you can expect him to izuna drop a sagat player most of the time.
2nd. Early TU can be 50/50 but if ur good at maneuvering Vega around it can be nightmare, since Sagat is too damn big. Early TU is a double edge sword, you can even say TU is invincible… if, that is, you can hit ur opponent. Most of the time when TU misses, it leads to Vega doing a Izuna drop or just hitting him with ur claw.
Here’s a tip: Sometimes when u hit him with ur claw, There’s 2 things Sagat players will do. They will do a quick get-up and try to get to u quickly as possible OR they will backdash or just block (but most likely will try to close in on you). This is when EX FBA comes into play. Right when they get up, dish out a EX FBA and it’ll mostly get him. (And no, I’m not trying to say I’m good or anything. I just find it to work most of the time whenever I play against Sagat players. And yeah, can’t really compare PSN Sagats to pros. but I’m just talking about from out my experience in online, since there’s so many “scrubs”, me included, I guess this would only work online? Also, ONLY do this when sagat player is NOT in the corner. If he blocks ur EX, ur dead)
as for the rest I don’t understand what ur trying to say, could u explain a little more. Are u talking about Sagat or Vega? u said “when a sagat is caught in the loop, no matter who is in control he has a couple of options to get out of it” That’s really vague. So how does a sagat: “#5. Walldiving from the opposite wall which becomes a whole new mind game by itself.” ??? I’m guessing ur talking about vega now. Stick to one character when ur explaining something, then make another paragraph and explain that character…
And for 3 and 4, are u talking about when a EX FBA gets blocked and u try to go for a Izuna drop? Cuz that’s the only reason I can think of for the screen stretch. when the screen moves after the failed attempt of EX FBA.
double posted my previous post
the option that you stated is the reason why shotos like ryu and ken can open up a bit more in terms of options.but sagat’s backdash is a joke, unless the vega player miss time the meaty attempt,a backdash is probably the worst option that the sagat player could go for.
i assumed that you talking about the fba game was about vega’s meaty izuna game in general.so if its not what you meant, then i apologize!
as for what i said,i just meant that incase of a knockdown scenario where vega starts the izuna loop.(ie a situation where vega keeps going for the izuna drop over and over that stuffs almost all of sagats options if timed right.again, this takes weeks of practice).so basically if the vega’s execution is spot on,and if the screen doesnt stretch even a little then the only thing sagat could do is to aim for a tu thats connects a frame earlier to vega’s izuna grab.mind you that its VERY VERY difficult to execute this as a sagat player, and even if the late tu is executed, the vega can mess the timing up by izuna dropping early from the front.
so in the end,if the vega players execution is perfect, the izuna loop scenario is more of a mind game for the sagat player compared to the claw.ofcourse, the punishment for messing up is rather high, but the risk is worth it.
True, personally for me I find Izuna drops more dangerous for Vega. I would never attempt it against a sagat player unless he was really bad or if I was going up against a good sagat, couldn’t find any openings, try to luck out. But for the pros who know how to match it, well good luck to them. And hopefully it wont lead to two roundhouse kicks and then to an ultra somehow…
actually again, izuna loop is the ONLY way to beat really good sagats.cause if a sagat player uses him to his maximum potential, not only does he outpoke vega with the proper normals but vega can also be literally zoned out with the tiger shots.thus a good sagat player can be anywhere on the screen at any point of time and he can control the flow of the match as he seems fit.the ONLY way you can beat a great sagat player is with the izuna loop.the loop on lockdown is the only advantage which makes the matchup 6:4 instead of an 8:2.
in your case,i think you’re not aware of the whole mechanic of doing the loop.it certainly cannot be explained by words, but i would recommend you to watch all of the claw vs sagat japanese trf matches.mind you that it takes around a few weeks to start doing it in matches.that or you simply lack the confidence to pull it off in matches, which you need to get over as fast as you can.
Zangief…I find Abels very easy. I usually work on the ground, but if you stay in the skies vs Abel, he can’t win.
