As a Gen player the only characters that really make me nervous are characters that are able to constantly apply pressure. It’s hard for Gen to deal with and it often times makes me use an ex bar for ex gekiro just to get some room to breathe. As we all know Gen needs that meter for FADC to maximalize damage or save for his super.
So basically fuck Cammy.
As for Fuerte, he is so rare I can’t help but smile everytime I see a dedicated one. Mixed feelings about him though, on the one hand it’s literally a guess everytime I get knocked down, but on the other I realize how hard El Fuerte really is to master.
Blanka: Random shenanigans, seemingly no battleplan. Can’t read a Blanka, regardless of how good they are.
M.Bison: just on the 1% offchance that they’re a good Bison.
Chun Li: Brings game almost every time. I get the impression Chun mainers are all battle-hardened oldschoolers who’ve probably been Chun Li since SFII.
C. Viper: The Cancel Game just throws my shit right off.
M.Bison. By god I hate him and his magically “online nonpunishable scissor kick” Honestly, where is the drawback for abusing that thing? Jump-in everything destroys/trades with Ibuki’s back MP and I’m just not used to the shenanigans people do with him online, no matter how long I play against them. Eventually, I’m playing a close game just finding a corner to play defense/punish on when I actually do beat him. Online in general upsets me because of how many unsafe things people do and get away with because 1 frame punishes are so impractical online, you decide to just not do them and characters like M.Bison and Balrog just run over you.
Right on - Elf player Habanero dashing out of the gates to defend his honaaaah!!
Wot? U scrubs can’t backdash? Forward dash? Jump instead of being hit by tortilla or either ultra? Elf is so weak, has wack-ass combos etc… all he has is a mental mix up game. Most y’all just knock that fool down and he’s done. I should know… my quesadilla is way too salty
With Fei, Akuma, or Ken I usually dont have anyone who makes me go ‘oh lawd’, and with Bison its obviously Guile. With Hakan right now in my current state of knowledge about the character I just troll about in ranked matches so it makes absolutely 0 difference who my opponent picks I will do more or less the same shit anyways
Seth - Feels like he can do whatever bs he feels like and I have to respect it. That might have been the fifth srk’ed walljump but one msis and I’m still dead.
Fuerte - Perfect griefing tool. Makes it so I spend rounds playing “AA/counter spastic goofball” instead of playing anything resembling the game my character is built to do.
Small irritations
Charge characters - because they’re built with minimal punish windows. Couple with bad reactions and online and… Blanka’s beatable but it’s just hold downback, sweep the stupid things the retard spams out, continue holding downback. Just annoying tho, not “wtf is this bs in the game” type of thing.
Yun - No idea why, just gets on my nerves. Part of it is the long Genei Jin juggles I think, and the general “press button, you’re in” type of thing many purpose-built rushdown characters have and being able to followup after ultra/DP. Irrational, but just feels like insult to injury.
Cammy and a good Chun Li. Some Blanka. Shoto characters because I get so bored of winning against the same predictable cliche fighters. Anyone I know will try and put pressure on me like Abel. Otherwise, I dont get scared much with Vega. With Guy, it’s a bit different so I am more fearful especially of characters such as Zangief.
I fear fighting Chun, all her pokes seem to dance around and counter mine all the time as a Vega player. I also pretty much put my controller down once I get knocked down by Cammy. Oh and for those of you who think Vega is hard to fight, just jump on him. A lot.
No anti-air, no real way to punish jump-ins.[Scarlet Terror hardly works. You have to not be hitting anything for Vega to hit you clean with that.] Be scared of ultra 2 on occasion [though It’s slow.]
