Who actually does low damage?

FlyingVe has some pretty crazy Jill stuff, you should give his youtube channel a look.

I know its been mentioned before, but you really should make more tiers (there are way too many “truck” characters for example)
I think the damage tiers should be split up into 5 separate tiers:

Truck (600k, no meter): With this new restriction, very few characters will reach this tier.
Strong: (500k, no meter): The majority of the current truck tier characters will reach this.
Solid: (450k, no meter): Average damage from bnb, a fair amount of characters will hit this tier.
Low: (400k, no meter): Slightly below average, not many characters hit this tier.
Poor: (350k or less, no meter): Low damage, a few characters will reach this tier

Fun thread Jin.

Edit: Oh and I almost forgot, MODOK for truck tier haha:

low health isn’t as much as a liability as it sound like it should look at what rr and strider can do you can barely touch them

in most games my low health character dies they have done. there job and taken down a lot of health for my other guys to clean up

Wesker with glasses on can do 500k+ practically, and can actually reach 550k with situational jump in s > mh -> etc. combos.

Wesker without glasses can break 650k with ease, and with a little work can easily approach 700k.

Thus, I propose we create a new tier for 650k+ territory, dubbed as “Capcom Loves Me” tier.

Really with meter being harder to get any character that is truck tier will be better most of the time. Unless the character can just mixup instantly after bnbs to build more meter and kill you with a couple more trys.

Chun-Li does extremely lackluster damage thanks to horrible scaling.

Morrigan does pretty solid damage now with the added hitstun from soul fists. Her better combos do require some execution, and provided that you don’t throw in her j.S and st.H normals to scale the crap out of her combos, she can get 470k damage before super off a BnB. I think that’s enough to get her out of the low-damage category.

I personally don’t feel like spending the time making a real hardcore tier list out of this since the idea was just more so to see who actually does really low damage. Which just like I thought it’s really only coming down to like 4 characters if that.

If someone wants to make a hardcore tier list for this shit…be my guest and I’ll post it up.

The way the thread is going I need like an 18 wheeler tier. Instead of finding out how low everyone’s damage is I’m just finding out how Capcom lied about the game being more reset/mix up based. You just have to work for your TOD’s now instead of do 2 supers after ABCS BBCS or turn on XF1.

I agree. I use Nemesis as my lead off and its wonderful - he takes a beating to put down, and doesn’t burn meter in the first place since I can either reset someone to death or with one reset and one bar - kill someone. I’ve had a good number of matches where when Nemesis finally dies I have beaten the other team to a pulp, whiped out ALL their meter and possibly X-factor, and sine I only used say one or two supers, I’ve built up enough of a surplus for Nova to pretty much kill anything on site with simple BnBs. But what Nemesis does the most as a tank if you will is absorb the other guys X-factor and meter. My pixie-esque teams just lose these days, seems to me so far that having high health to asorb meter is a HUGE pay-off…especiaqlly if you can conserve meter at the same time.

the only combo i can think of is the L gram xx formation b loop.

I don’t play Morrigan anymore but I’m pretty sure the rule of thumb “don’t ever use c.L, s.H, or j.S if you don’t have to” still holds true. Those moves kill her damage.

I’ve seen decent damage combos for her in the Morrigan subforum but they usually just make me ask why she has to work that hard to get there. On the plus side, the Astral Vision clone gets XF boosts now, which is worth keeping in mind. That wasn’t the case in the original release.

Strange can get ~600k vs grounded opponents, 450-500 on aerial.

Joes normal bnb does between 450 and 500 depending on what you start the combo with.

X 23s bnbs does about the same midscreen and then jump to like 600 in the corner.

It’s pretty stupid that Morrigan’s best normals destroy her ability to deal damage. In addition to that, she still has to work so much harder to cause damage than most of the cast with all the ridiculous flight cancels, and even then you’re just reaching the average level of damage most other characters are capable of hitting with much less effort.

I’m on it! just need to figure out how many tiers to make and which bnbs to use.

Morrigan’s biggest issue when she’s on point is that the rest of the good characters are generally way less high maintenance than she is. She shuts down a lot of the game’s crap IMO when you play her right but the damage issue even when you do shut everything down is a problem in of itself and why people usually just gravitate towards less maintenance characters. Even with her buffs I still think the easiest way to play her is just building a team around her harmonizer assist so you can just build a team that shuts down characters that need to get in to win from the start like Zero rather easily.

That would be Pulsr.

Heh, turns out most of the videos I saw were his. From this video, it looks like she’s getting mid to high 400k’s at the most from a practical combo:

Jill can do 600+ in the corner with a good otg assist. factoring in assist probably 80% of the cast in truck tier.

also, the first bnb from the combo above, I’m pretty now requires very strict timing or you have to drop the c.M, as they will flip out before the qcf.a hits, at least for me.

I’d say firebrand is morrigan tier at the moment. Dude has to do some convulted backflips and the like to break 450k as far as I know. I like playing him lame anyways.

Puslr does appear at SoCal streams those…
