They weren’t PORTRAYING jews, whereas Seinfeld’s cast was. Friends was just white people (regardless of their religion) acting white in a suspiciously semi-mono-ethnic area of New York. Seinfeld was almost offensively stereotypically behaving (the jewish community refers to the show as self-hating, sometimes) Jewish people acting confused by dumb shit and getting into situations people with a modicum of sense wouldn’t have gotten into…much like Seinfeld’s stand up. “What’s with airline peanuts, oh, the bag is confusing for me…”
Oh, god, if you’re black, nonconformity will get you the stink eye for DECADES in the black community, even from your friends. They’ll still be your friends, but from that moment on, they’ll describe you as “aight, just a little weird.”. Imagine you have an mp3 player wired into your work truck’s sound system, and you select a track and start filling out a timesheet…and a black co-worker wanders up, and pops open the passenger side door and hears you rocking Jean Newhall’s piano rendition (best version, I feel) of The Theme From The Year of Living Dangerously instead of some bullshit braggadocio from Drake or some other fool, every other black person at that company, regardless of if you are in their department or not, for months afterward would randomly approach you with “Man, people say you be listenin’ to some WEIRD shit, bruh.”. We’re supposed to all like the same stereotypical music, like sports, and have the same pastimes (basically just sitting around the house or going to a club when you’re not at work. Even working out at home gets you funny looks. Apparently you’re only supposed to lift weights if you get sent to prison or something). It’s weird, but the most bullshit a non-conformist black guy gets is not from “da white man”, but from fellow black men, who apparently can’t stand to see somebody happy doing something they can’t wrap their minds around. This is perhaps the only thing I envy about white people: they can act ANY way, have ANY LEGAL pastime, and other members of their race are for the most part cool with it.

As a white guy I am pondered by this one thing that I noticed that only white people do. Please I hope somebody can correct me and tell me I’m wrong.
But I noticed that the only people who adopt children are white families. I have been pondering this concept and I just can’t think of exceptions.

we must mesh as a culture us black and white folk, because if this cant be so we’re no better than pirates and monkeys i also encourage my black people to gauge in conversation with our white friends, and i dream that one day we will be brothers united under a common ground .
Idunno…it seemed to me that they were all just doing stuff that single caucasians in their late 20’s do. Every other sitcom was about caucasians in a FAMILY life, this was a show about a group of caucasians who were…friends, without wives and kids (until fuckin’ BEN) and thus did stuff single caucasians do with friends, without the burden of a family. I didn’t see any jewish stuff, unlike Seinfeld. They were just regular white people (with apparently really high-paying jobs) that hung out and did stuff together. Nowhere in ANY description of Friends, even it’s own home network’s site, is anything jewish mentioned.
