Let me draw an example for you, since you’re apparently not able to do that by yourselves:
Say you’re a heterosexual guy who’s got a woman you’re married or otherwise more or less permanently engaged with and the two of you want to have a baby, but since your sperm is a bunch of lazy or dead fucks you two can’t have a baby.
Now you and your wife decide to not go for an adopted child because both of you want to experience the pregnancy and birth and shit.
You arrive at the sperm bank and they give you an album with the donors and you as the guy who hasn’t any part in the genetic makeup of the kid will probably choose which sperm your wife is gonna get and try to get a guy who looks as close as possible to what you yourself look like.
You know it’s kinda cool when your baby looks like you, even if it’s technically not your own child.
Now it’s birth time and the fucking baby is black, not because of some recessive genes, or because your wife had a date with the postman but because the sperm bank fucked up.
Yeah sure now you have no right to be fucking angry and get some compensation for the sperm banks breach of contract?

People give birth to “accidents” all the time-- that condom was supposed to work, one thing led to another, we didn’t even finish school yet, the baby has some deadly allergy or disorder, et fuck cetera-- but responsible parents love and raise them anyway. They have a kid now though, and the 1st thing they should have thought about is “when my kid gets older how will this be perceived by them?” This could really mess with a mixed kid who’s the child (aka test tube baby) of lesbian’s parents head even more. The kid will already never know its father… Then they’ll grow up and get to the whole opinion of the internet of her situation and word word what her parents said.
So as a parent this should have been handled discreetly or they should have done what parents do and man’d up and handled it on there own if it bothered them that much. There sob story is hypocritical and embarrassing if they would just have said, that the clinic screwed up and we are suing for negligence no one would bat and eye. All this extra BS is the problem.
