And if they have insurance most of that is likely covered. Hospitals always do that shit in the US. They zap you for the craziest amount of money possible since they know in most cases insurance is going to eat it all up. My payment for hospitals is 100 bucks, doesn’t matter what they do. Often what could be done for say a grand here ends up costing several times that as the hospitals go through every possible treatment in the book and then just ding your insurance company. It’s one of the reasons our insurance is so fucked up.
Dude goes into a hospital with a less than 1% chance of living, is in his 80s, and a diabetic. He’s not in pain, and is pretty much dead. Now the rational thing to do would be to say “sorry pops that’s it”, but oh fucking no! That mother fucking is going to wake up hooked to life support with his ribs broken from CPR and scars all over his ass, linger for two weeks and then drop fucking dead. And the insurance company is going to pay 100k for that mess.
