The solution to inequality is to deal with the root source of it. Not to create laws and systems that kneecap other people. We’ve come a long fucking way since 1960 and the majority of people do not want to go back.

However the only party that claims to care about working class people (the Democrats) really only care about working class minorities in the major cities and laugh at working class whites as “dumb hicks from fly over country”. This is stupid because that’s where the real poverty is and far more of them are on food stamps and the like than inner city minorities who do have somewhat of a safety net there.

Black culture is 100% rooted in American history. All ties to Africa were cut up and shredded through slavery. Stop telling people to go to Africa, it isn’t their home.
People are already hired and fired based on race. I have a staff and I get bonuses by having more minorities as a percentage of my staff. It also helps us nail federal contracts. Point blank I’d rather have a black guy than a white guy, unless the white guy is a veteran. It helps my bonus and it helps us nail down contracts. We cut staff this year, so I sacked the least important white dude on my staff. My bonus went up as well, largest minority percentage department where I work!
Of course with hispanics now moving to “caucasian” which is what they are I may need to reconfigure my staff a bit. And for some odd ass reason hiring Asians never gives you points on the scale (they aren’t a protected group) so I may lose that next year.
None of this helps poor people or poor minorities. What it does mean is that once you hit a certain level being a minority is a massive advantage. But till you get there, you’re still fucked. Of course, we won’t change that. Because these rules aren’t there to help the poor, but to hype up middle class and upper middle class minorities since they are the ones that push for them.
I work for a corporation, this is what I’m trying to tell people. The people on top don’t care what race you are (they don’t care about promoting equality), people are just statistics part of a larger formula to accumulate wealth/fame but people are too busy arguing amongst themselves to notice.

Look, we are going to do whatever it takes to nail a 500 million dollar five year contract, that’s not huge but it’s good for us. Given that diversity points help you nail contracts, well shit. We either need to fire or hire people at a senior level to get there. Didn’t have to be a VP, company officer, director, or VP will do. Just make those diversity points.

What I do find funny is that hispanics and blacks are now at each others necks at the upper levels. Since hispancis are now off the protected list in many cases. mostly due to African American lobbying to have that. So we’re now shredding our white hispanics because they are worth less to us.

There’s actually a long term political paper by the Democrats of all people that they don’t think their party will be viable in the long term. Mainly because hispanic focused programs and black focused programs are not compatible, as anything that gives an edge to one group naturally fucks the other group over. And which group has the longer term population growth and is thus more important to retain. For population growth, hispanics win out everytime and are more likely to vote so it’s pretty much a done deal. Though hangers on like Sharpton are screaming and calling it the next Jim Crow, which means “when I said minority programs I meant for my minority damn it! not those taco eating assholes”.
I find it all highly comical. Though I think most people would go apeshit if they saw how those of us at the top looked at employee rosters and said “now since I get bonus points for having more of this sort of person, how the fuck can I game the shit out of this”.
It’s rather telling that as soon as hispanic turned into “white/hispanic” we pulled all the funds from their ethnic interest group and ramped up our rate of African hires and hispanics got tossed into the “not protected, no points” bin of resumes.

You stated that corporations now hire blacks over more qualified whites, which I disagreed with. That is not in any way shape or form saying that corporations should only hire people based on race. I’m disagreeing with your statement that white people are now in a position where they don’t get hired and non qualified black people are taking their jobs, which is absolute bullshit. What do you think the unemployment rate is for black people(hell minorities, women, anything other than straight white males for that matter) compared to whites? If the corporations were truly out to only hire minorities I’m pretty sure the stats would speak for themselves, but instead they don’t. You seem to believe that systematic racism somehow never existed in the US and if it did it ended with slavery, which is laughable at best. My issue with your initial statement is that you seem to want to preserve the status quo in terms of the hiring process, while failing to realize the historical context for the systematic inequality that women, gays, and minorities have all had to face. If we were to do it your way then all these different groups would be at an even lower level of the glass ceiling that they’re at right now. Sure hiring based on only qualifications is the ideal solution, but it’s something that has never been done in the history of America’s existence, and you’re ignorant to think that it ever has. In fact, while some of what you say may be true, for the most part corporations still look for the one thing they’ve always sought out, straight white males. It’s reflected in the statistics in terms of diversity makeup within corporations and the unemployment rate for anyone that doesn’t fit that category. Once systematic inequality is eliminated then what you’re talking about is feasible, but until then things like the glass ceiling will continue to be a problem and the advocation of what you’re talking about will just continue to preserve the status quo.

No matter what the statistics someone who has been fucked over for a job by an employer because of his or her race has still been getting completely unjustly fucked over and that is wrong no matter how you slice it.
You mention past racism, but how is that relevant today? Answer me honestly, have you ever personally experienced it yourself? Not your grandparents. Not your parents. I’m talking about you. I moved to the US, so no, I personally did not see how bad things were here, but I’m talking about how things are now and I don’t see this straight up racism and discrimination against minorities that you mention. I do see racism against whites though. Whites require higher grades to get into the same universities/schools. Whites don’t have scholarships just for them because they’re white. There are special training and tutoring services in college, but guess what, for minorities only. Same for job finding. When you get into the corporate world, Acerbic gave you a perfect example of how minorities are chosen over whites. Nini Heart gave you an example of how even basic jobs discriminate against whites. You mention the glass ceiling to be a problem, but people like Acerbic, Nini Heart, and myself have given you clear examples of how your statement is completely incorrect.
This is my point. It doesn’t matter what race you are, it’s wrong to discriminate.

I didn’t say it doesn’t exist at all and I didn’t say that it’s all against whites. Your black friends were stopped by cops? Guess what, my white friends were stopped by cops. Except they don’t go around saying that it was because the black cops are racist against whites. There are bad cops out there but I think the race card is over-used.
Also, I think people think that Martin was a “thug” because he was suspended (three times and caught with burglar tools and stolen jewelry) and the pictures of him posing as a thug and him talking about drugs.
