White guy gets attacked by ANGRY BLACK MOB! ZOMG, WHERE'S THE MEDIA OUTRAGE!?

OH LONG JOHNSON
OH LONG JOHNSON

but this is true according to white people on SRK who believe that being white gives you less opportunities than minorities. can’t really argue with that

Yeah you have. It’s just more subtle

Example:

Barack Obama graduated from Columbia University and Harvard University
He was president of Harvard Law review
He was a civil rights attorney in Chicago
He taught constitutional law at University of Chicago Law School

all this before joining the Illinois Senate

Sarah Palin graduated from the University of Idaho after bouncing around from numerous colleges and community colleges to receive a bachelors in communication before joining city council and working her way up.

Throughout some of the campaign, the fact that Barack was somehow less experienced than Sarah Palin was a major talking point, when clearly that’s not the case. This dude dedicated his life to law and went to 2 of the most prestigious colleges in the nation to have to compete with Sarah Palin, who just bounced around whimsically and got a degree in fucking communication.

Here’s Patrice O’Neal summing up the answer for this question (if you’re not up on Patrice I suggest you learn him. One of the funniest comedians ever)

Not to say that all black people feel this way because some hate white folk in general, but you at least see where the anger can come from.

As much as I hate Palin I gotta point out that education and experience are different things. Palin had been in a bunch of different leadership positions in city and state government leading up to her nomination as VP, Obama was clearly the better educated person but he had never held office outside the senate.

Still a pretty poor argument against Obama, especially since there are much better ones (like the fact that despite all of his education he still doesn’t seem to understand Marbury v. Madison) but still.

Barack won the election so he was more deserving in the publics eye. And I thought it was common knowledge that Sarah Palin was undeserving, and lack of education herself. Yes McCain, and Palin had a lot of white followers for the wrong reason, but I seen a lot of people who don’t give a shit about government, or politics rallying for Obama. I guess we see the same world threw different lenses. I really think one day everything will be equal. I do understand that not many blacks are punks, like the ones in the video. More are not like that then are. I just want everyone to understand that there are white people who are not discriminating, and truly see blacks as equals. I know I do. Its just really sad, and hard for me to understand that/why so many get discriminated on when my family, nor I are not like that. It just sucks…

I just assume everyone is inferior to me until proven otherwise.

When I do it that way I’m correct more often.

See the youtube clip in my OP. I edited it to save space

…The thread title is off. Guy was mixed. He is Jewish/Mexican and black. Not white but then again some people love these “race” topics. Well off I go…

im not readingg 6 pages, read the first and the last. lol wut. so some white dude got slumped in bmore being drunk in the wrong place at night, okay. as a man who grew up in and out of baltimore (dad lived there but i lived in AA) and left at 26, has been hanging in every crevice of bmore, from janky ass hood clubs and drinking on stoops from patterson park to park heights, to hanging in canton and federal hill with the predominately white bar patrons, and seeing all kinds of ass whoopins go down, this video means nothing to me at all.

bmore isnt like some world where niggas dont punk other niggas too, and if your black your cool to wonder around drunk and clueless, and if your white, your not. i wont front like they didnt see a sheep when they saw dude, and being the ignorant mofos they are, just went in like some wolves, but them niggas in the video sound like some clowns and shit. just young dumb motherfuckers actin up, getting some fake street points, while real hood niggas aint even interested in some regular ass looking college white boy.

i dont know, ive seen enough black people fighting each other and bullying each other (been apart of it myself at times), do everything in that video short of stripping a nigga, cause thats gay and no real niggas is doing some homo shit like that. shit, let my black ass get tipsey and walk around some areas on the west lookin all out of place, and i bet some niggas start heckling me and try to run up on me. thats baltimore period. ive been away 3 years, but that shit aint change.

lol, and didnt anyone see that dudes facebook page https://www.facebook.com/events/258555114212326/. people posting craziness on his wall. haha

im just annoyed niggas cant do stupid shit like this anymore without recording themselves and snitching on themselves. like, i think they really think wshh is like firewalled from the police or something it seems. lol. im not condoning it, because ive been on the other side of it too. where im like, oh you niggas gonna try to act dumb now, but it can be different with blacks vs blacks at times i admit, cause a nigga dont always know if you just as wild as he is, so sometimes shit that would be something might get squashed depending on your response to the initial interaction.

im blabbing. bout to life story this bitch up. lol. i just know cause ive been all around bmore since a kid, worked with hood niggas in my earlier days, and was always in and out the city my entire life mostly. so i know how them niggas be.

tldr lol

Of course it isn’t fair. But fairness doesn’t dictate the facts.

It’s not fair that people who didn’t do shit get judged or pigeonholed by association with people who did. It’s not fair that people are born into certain advantages that they didn’t ask for and might not even want. The thing about being part of a legacy is that you don’t get a choice.

I listened, and it did help me understand a little more honestly. All black people should have the right to be upset about the past. The past is so bazaar it feels like a alternate reality to me almost. Now I understand that when I hear anyone say “white” they don’t necessarily mean me. Lets all just make it to heven. I herd its peaceful up there lol. Seriously though, I have a lot to learn. I hope one day everyone can sit down, and really talk how they feel like he said. Just know that I do my best to give equality to everyone, and I will raise my kids(one day) the same way.

iowa? the same state where a class-action lawsuit has been filed for state job discrimination and preferential opportunities for whites over blacks for the same job opportunities?
http://www.timesrepublican.com/page/content.detail/id/546980/Denied-jobs--blacks-in-Iowa-test-new-bias-theory.html?nav=5005

in this particular case, it looks like there’s a lack of representation at the governmental level for non-white communities, where political-economic maneuvering begins. i continue trying to convey this notion to people, but it doesn’t seem to sink in…a lack of comparative access to economic resources goes hand-in-hand with criminal activity related to acquisition of economic resources.

I haven’t seen a post this good on here in a while. Also, about the whole being upset at the past thing, most people (minorities AND women) just want an equal shot (life is hard enough as it is).

I know right. It’s almost sad at this point.

You do have a point about the representation lagging behind the demographic makeup of Iowa, but that is more due to the rapidity of demographic change in Iowa than it is to any institutional bias.

As for the class action lawsuit, such things are not unique to iowa, and the existence of a lawsuit doesn’t prove ubiquitous guilt.

But either way, violent crime and poverty do not correlate well enough accross all races and cultures to support your argument. Certainly not here; we have a pretty high poverty rate accross all demographic groups with a concentration of violent crime in a small racial minority. I don’t think the data accross america supports your argument either, but I don’t have the studies handy to demonstrate this.

arent you mongoalian?

Oh boy, now the “black people should be thankful that we enslaved them, and took them off that jungle continent” argument. Lol ill pass on being apart of this.

we’re simply gonna have to agree to disagree, because i certainly don’t agree with your counterpoint based on what i’ve seen, experienced, and researched.

please, elaborate.

Why wouldn’t they think so? Just because Obama got president doesn’t mean racist prejudices somehow transformed into being the same as white people’s over the span of 4 years.

Except that’s where you’re wrong, white people are protected by their stereotypes in that kind of countries, they don’t need US troops to do so.

Being black and having lived 8 years in Morocco and a few months in Tunisia before coming here in the U.S, I can assure you that in their own country, even if ignorance does exist toward the minorities, an Arab being racist see black people as nuisances and white people as dumb tourists, sources of money and scam victims.

As a result, when both these races confront racism from the majority, blacks are the ones who, for example, get denied from renting an apartment either because it is assumed they can’t afford it, or that they will bring their whole family in it or simply because other people in the building are racist and don’t want to see black people wandering around in their buildings.

Or being black dressed with a hoodie, trying to deposit a huge amount of money in a bank account, people trying to check on your identify and finally refusing that I deposit such a big amount of money (school tuition+apartment) while when I ask a fellow Caucasian male student said he had no problem making a deposit for the same amount of money in the same bank.

Or being called “monkey!!” or “slave11” down the street when it’s not supposed to be a really safe neighborhood of the city while white people DO NOT get shouted at “infidels!!” like people seem to believe.

Those are just little examples.

So maybe HERE in America, minorities are treated the same way when it comes to racism, I have yet to experience it here (and I hope not to have to actually) and see how it goes for Hispanics, Asians and Indians.

But from my experience, it does matter.
