Well I meant during mid combo. Maybe it’s just me but I just cannot follow it up at all unless I’m in the corner, and generic launcher combos are ass.

Maybe try WoL and cancel the 3rd hit?
KbG is ass for tag cancelling, it knocks back too far - hell, she doesn’t have a single decent tag cancel move aside from her launcher.
well it depends on the teammate I guess, like with Hugo usually his MK backbreaker would snatch them, or with Jin you can super and it’ll tag them.
But yeah its ass, especially when you compare it to what the other characters have.

Yeah it feels like she needs to just go with her launcher if she wants her tag partner to get any kind of damage. Very disappointing.
well i guess it depends on the situation, i was in the lab as always and found even though its higher execution, being switch canceled into with close :mp: Charge cancel, close :hp: , :hk: KBG does alot of damage, doing this near a corner will not only make sure most if not all the hits of KBG will hit but you can Switch cancel it into anything for big damage. just messing around with it in the corner i was netting 460+ with 1 stock, sure its situation based but i think its kinda cool. Derpy Ryu does a crap ton of damage with her too and literally gives Poison all day to combo off his DP’s, or EX Jordai kick if you like, even tatsu under weird conditions like after a corner KGB switch cancel, you can cr. :mk: to :hk: tatsu then switch cancel again into anything you want. in general her corner game is evil especially when you start adding fireballs to it.
personal preference when training fireball combos, i go to pitstop 109. Reason is, its the only stage to have a vast color difference with Poison’s fireballs…this sounds weird but when learning the timing for the 1 frame link between :hp: Aeolus edge to cr. :mk: you can visually see when the fireball lands and the color of the fireball hitting can be a easy indicator in when you should press the low forward button.
look on the bright side…she’s like ryu in the sense that she can be put on any team I’ve been trying to find the right partner for zangief and i can’t find anyone better than poison she’s so simple and basic that i don’t have to worry about some complex chain of combo’s or if i did the right thing she’s just there to build meter and chip away at the opponent’s health before the red cyclone gets tagged in
I think the biggest grip or beef people have with Poison(besides her lol overhead is the fact she has not go special move to tag cancel from, I was going to post this in the team synergy thread…i still think i should but out of all her special moves only 2 are liable to tag cancel from and one is a EX and the other is very character specific outside the corner) the moves in question are EX WoL and KBG. you have to have good timing on tag canceling from the last hit of her EX WoL in the first place but what makes matters worse you spending 2 stock for a combo that has already been scaled. KBG is the better option, if it didn’t knock them to the other side of the screen(however thats the saving grace for the move as well) like Blaze explained earlier select few characters can actually follow up with this move, but in the corner everyone can.
Poison’s Team synergy is rather one sided in a way, if you look at characters like Ryu or Hwoarang they do nothing but give Poison potential opportunities for combo-ability and damage, while Poison herself(seeming like her character in general) doesn’t give anything back in return for her services but being there as a jack of all trades.
Basically if there was a chart showing characters stats in SFxTK Poison would be well rounded in all categories but one, and thats Tagging/Switching Options as shes limited in that one aspect. To be Fair, Hugo doesn’t have many options in this respect either except for EX moster lariat, but if that hits you, know you can get a full combo universally, so one is better then none imo.
Well to be fair I couldn’t imagine anyone wanting to tag hugo out if he gets a hitconfirm. That’s a free 400+ damage from anywhere on the screen iirc.
true, but sometimes there maybe situations where that mite be the case~ like low vitality or w/e i just used that as a example of have the option to do something universally then not having it there at all~

Jamp you doing people dirty online? I think you was talking about this earlier but i had just started scratching the surfacing in trying to combo into a generic launcher or boost combo to deal damage or have a effective means of tagging out for Poison as we know she isn’t the best team player in that regard.
even though i like EX Aeolus, im not the best when it comes to linking after it, since its another what 1 frame link? lolz but doing that into cr. :mk:, then into generic launcher does good damage especially if it was started with a close :hp: . Im sure your Nina Bnb after a boost combo will increase the damage too, but im trying to find some meter less options for the start of it, and i can only find in the corner close or cr. :hp:, :hp: Aeolus Edge xx cr. :mk:, Launcher, or hit confirm cr. :lp: x2, cr. :mk: ,Launcher. or just far :hp: into Launch in footsie battles.
I haven’t found a convenient way to combo into launcher either, like Lili can off a wall bounce or w/e but Poison seems to lack any special way to combo into launcher.

It’s also quite unsafe, be careful with that.
I do it from an Ex LMT. and just go for that generic cl.shot cl.short c jab c. forward into a chained launcher. that gets me to switch, do a double jab (so poison can get off the screen) shoryu from Cammy and then swap into the SC combo. ending in KBG. Convenient against plasma chuckers.
yeah i know, i gotten pretty goof to visual confirm hits now, i don’t wiff it much at all anymore~ day 1 I was a mess -_-’ just chains all day, today though im really getting used to doing links…well almost its 60% or so success rate. . .im slowly leveling up.
thats some nice tech there, abit heavy on the meter but it seems pretty good, how is the damage?
Yeah, launchers are too risky outside of Cross Rushes. I try to avoid using them as much as possible, risking only good reads to catch lows against characters like Vega or Kazuya, or hitconfirming into it after a c.:lp:
Though I can hit EX Aeolus into c.:mk: quite consistently, I have yet to use EX Aeolus in matches. Still getting used to her spacing, so I’m just working with hitconfirms.
398 without EX lmt I’m concerned about practical use though.
ahh i c, its good damage but the boost combo scales it rather high, but the SC makes up the rest of the damage, i did a similar version of your combo Combo_Knight and got 443 @_@’ you using all your juggle points right?
