Hak - "Standing fierce is such a useless move, can’t find any use for it"
Gootecks - “A pretty good move, hits half of the screen”
Stay free, FC.
Oh, and you can hit a standing :mk: if you land a heavy Aeolus, it seems. At least he does that combo in the corner and he even had time to actually walk before doing the :mk:
And no reliable anti-airs my ass, that standing strong hits as high as a bloody DP o_O And finally some clarification on her fireball going through other fireballs, it seems it’s a special property of her medium Aeolus.
Good God, Gootecks looks like he’s ready to sleep for the next three days. And if the comments are true, he’s half Hispanic, half Asian? I wasn’t quite sure this entire time.
On to Poison, though, I do love that I’m seeing someone covering her normals. I’m loving them.
Gootecks comes out of nowhere and gives the best SFxT character walkthrough around. Good shit.
Poison fits Gootecks’s style really well, she has all the tools that his preferred characters usually have. On the other hand Ricky just wants to use Poison for obvious reasons.
It seems to be her only reliable way through fireballs though~ im not complaining, at least she has one. But it seems hitting the link after the EX seems to be essential…uhhg 3 Good EX moves…I hope I can manage the meter correctly.
Lolz do we need anything else~ not really…would it be nice…oh why not!
I know she can fall back on zoning to build meter or other unorthodox means of gaining meter, Im just wondering when and how I should spend the meter…Since her EX are so good(like most Characters)
so i can break it down alittle…
-EX Kiss by a Goddess is like her Go to move under pressure on wake up or you need that get out of jail card…also this is pretty much the same during a block string as her KBG is her CrossOver Counter.
-EX Whip of Love is her only real way to extend her combos, but it does add a nice chunk of damage without having to spend 2 Bars…because whats the point if you could just Combo into Super
-EX Love me Tender is…well lack of better words…SOOOOOO GOOOOD! nah i maybe over exaggerating it…Im not >_>,
This move hits over head and during a block string its hard to see as its faster then its normal incarnations. As Jamp just Pointed out, its fireball invulnerable…so if she wants to stop the zoning game in get in, she can do that with this. + you got Options from doing this move alone…just watch out for 3 frame punishers…
with only 3 stock at max…i feel like ima burn through meter so fast…but that Onslaught Gem IS SO GOOD! so its w/e
Oh, forgot to mention. I’ll probably get to play the game tomorrow so I’m going to get some neato testing done since I’ll most likely be spending all that time on Poison.
And Love Me Tender is looking more and more like “Hate Me Tender” - for our opponents of course, haha.
soo witty~ im liking it. Man I remember when people said that was Poison’s worse move and look now. >_>’ a buff in some builds later…But thats awesome you get to play, I hope you can record some matches if you can, if not~ Give us the full report~ hahaha
Another side note from Gootecks’ walkthrough: Seems like c.:lp:, cl.:mk: might be a frame trap. Gootecks was fighting the CPU, got a crouching jab blocked and then did a close forward right after it, hitting a counter hit. Might be just the CPU using slow moves but I think it’s something worth looking into - that’s how we found out LMT was safe after all.
so she mite be +on block with Cr. :lp:? humm that is something worth looking into. however it seems like duty is up to you my man! if it makes you feel any better I could consolidate a list of things to test~ lolz
i’m kind of curious how good her instant/early jump normals are for anti airing because i want that counter hit juggle
watching teks show us her anti air normals the whole time i was thinking this is good but not really threatening
if i’m facing poison i won’t mind jumping at her because they have to be done sort of earlier to be clean and even if they are clean it didn’t really hurt
i also wish he kind of went into cross up anti airs which by the looks of it c.hp (i think was the button) looks like it would be okay but who knows
From personal experience, I think cr.HP is a better anti-air than st.MP, but that could be the awkward online timing messing with me. Kissed by a Goddess, :dp::k:, doesn’t have invincibility frames (or at least, not enough) to be used as an anti-air. Works surprisingly against cross ups, though.
Gootecks had lots of nice info. Thanks for posting the video! If any of you want me to test stuff out, let me know. I’ll be here all day.
Crouching fierce most likely has more priority due to being a fierce and all. c:hp: should work better against early jump-ins and s.:mp: against late jump-ins, like Gootecks pointed out.
There’s also her cl.:mk: - I think? correct me if I’m wrong - which hits on top of her if. But it’s utility as an anti-air is yet to be seen.
Close :hk: and its ok for Anti-Air, i believe in Cr. :hp: because of the reduced hitbox because shes crouching, and jump ins are good in this game, it seems most standing Anti-Air(exceptions like Rolento’s Stand :mp:) are going to trade with alot of jump ins…
and that’s the concern i have is that we could anti air someone 3 times with s.mp (i know we have others) and on the fourth time we get beat out and comboed and lose more life in the sequence of events
i’m probably worrying too much though
I don’t think Poison’s anti-airs need to do alot of damage because like I said before your gonna be taking a lot of damage before you get close enough to even do a jump in. Poison has alot of tool and smart players should to be able to dictate where the battle takes place as well as the pace of the fight.
Her ability to go from total zoning into a overhead that is safe on block and gives a combo on hit is something that should not be overlooked. She is not like Dhalsim either in that once she’s on you she can actually generate pressure, force you into mistakes, and make you uncomfortable.
Even getting jumped in on she still has her back-flip and ex dp to get out of pressure situations. I’m very excited for her right now.
you can mix it up too…that’s what air to air’s are for…or other gimmicky stuff. the example you have me just told me you went with the same Anti-Air 3 times…(I determine my AA’s with spacing) so im unsure on how to judge that because this is very theoretical.
