Sirlin gets trashtalked a lot here, but this seems like a legitimate belief and not just random hating. I’ve argued with the guy on a number of subjects to a great extent, and he can be incredibly stubborn and frustrating. I have, in the past, gotten so worked up that I need to leave my keyboard. That said, I have not once been insulted by him or had my arguments ignored.
As for the criticism thing, I think Sirlin actually responds too much to criticism. He spent extensive amounts of time replying to front page comments even if they were, to be generous, ignorant. I actually advocated that he not bother with the front pages comments for quite a while, since they seemed like a waste of time and a losing battle. He eventually closed commenting on the front page.
Anyways, you can generally have quite a reasonable conversation with him if you open with “I disagree with/am confused by changes X, Y and Z for these reasons and so forth” and not “Sirlin, u r an asshole and wrong and fucked up my main.” The latter is borderline trolling anyways, and I know I certainly wouldn’t give that guy my time.
Did Sirlin puff his chest after top8ing with Fei? Yeah, he did hahah. I would too if I were him, since there were claims about Fei being awful etc. The only difference is that no one reads my blog. :lol: Maybe I’m a jerk since I’d have an ego too.
Eh, I just really don’t think he deserves the level of hate he seems to get.
