In light of the CCC2 lag, which ST do you think should be used for tournaments now?
Dreamcast is the closest version to the arcade. There are no sprite/screen size differences (despite rumors to the contrary), and you can set it to be arcade perfect with the dip switch options. The game speeds in the DC don’t match exactly but apparently almost none of the console versions get that right either.
Theres a stickied ST thread you should’ve asked in there instead of making a pointless thread.
You mean IIX Matching Service?
And sit through your horrible posts? No thanks. This man just saved himself an eyesore.
But yeah, DC ST is supposedly the new way to play.
Anyone for ST Revival on the GameBoy Advance/Nintendo DS?
yes that is so true
rofl
like u play in tournaments anyway. go back to spewing nonsense in sthd thread
ST Revival isn’t TOO bad. It’s actually kind of fun. Me and Nohoho played with this guy that came visiting from some European country(who posts here apparently) and we had some good games. It was fun, to say the least. Of course, if ST DC doesn’t work out, we can always use that as the last resort. It’ll give me more incentive to whip out my red GBA SP.
would someone be good enough to link me to the dip switch settings, just dug out my ST for DC to see if I could dust off my DJ, as I’ve been rinsed on Kawaks p2p and the arcade recently.
DC version seems to be the best of the ports.
But damn am I glad I have a board and don’t have to worry about whats considered status-quo this week
Going to the actual dreamcast platform would be a step backwards. The best solution is to stay with CCC2 until SFHD (which is based on DC version) comes out.
Isnt this true on all the Capcom fighters? Any exceptions?
The CCC2 version suffers from input lag. The Dreamcast version suffers from unreliable hardware. AE-as-ST differs from the arcade version in several areas. SFHD isn’t out yet.
In the event that SFHD takes forever to come out or does not deliver for some reason, I would choose AE-as-ST and just learn to live with the differences.
lol i remember playing him in tourney at w2z before evo, I was like this is orochi!!! and then realized he sucked bad
no, that is absolutely not the best solution at all
CCC2 shouldn’t even be given a chance to be in tournaments, it is practically unplayable at the competitive level
HST2T from AE gets my vote, but thats just cause thats the one i play
This is incorrect. The best solution is to use the DC platform. CCC2 is not tournament viable because of the input lag.
DC platform is the best, and a big advantage is that it’s the same platform as the standard for MvC2.
DC platform is what is being used for regionals. DC was used for the 2007 winter Northwest regionals, for example.
use ccc2 till st hd comes out? :wasted: 8 frames of total input lag isn’t tourney worthy is it?
Given the cost of any console plus game, is it worth looking at using the original arcade CPS2 hardware? Or does that get nullified because it limits people being able to practice at home?
Yeah, except it was used at all the EVO tournies last year. And it seemed playable since no one bitched about it.
