Super Turbo. Thats my answer to everything.
UMK3 & 3s.
Not sure if alot of people know this, but this game DID have HUGE execution requirements.
Yeah after watching some UMK3 tournaments I saw some of that stuff ain’t easy to pull off. Respect.
3s for execution, Vampire Savior for reaction.
Bushido Blade and Fight Night.
MvC2 really helped my reactions.
Dr. B’s assist controls the entire screen and makes you invincible.
In the execution department, I would say KoF games, seeing how some commands are really strict, but there is also CvS2, and I could even say that some MK games have made me improve my execution, years ago.
As for reaction, Super Turbo as well and Marvel, yeah, that game does make other FG seems slower, except Primal Rage and it’s 1000x speed, derp.
Hahahahahaha fucking Primal Rage.
Marvel all day. I think there’s a lot of significance in that Justin learned MvC2 first and then expanded to other lots of other games. Learning Marvel and 3s at the same time helped exponentially with me reacting to stuff in 3s. Playing Marvel and then turning on 3s is like The Matrix where Neo sees the agents in slo-mo at the end and parries the shit out of them + Ryu mule kick.
I feel bad for a lot of people just picking up SFIV because even though through play they improve, they have a huge handicap since their reflexes haven’t been developed through faster games.
UMK3 and VF4 -maining Goh and learning Akira helped out a lot
Ditto. I was ushered into the competitive scene via 3rd Strike, but CvS2 taught me execution. ST beefed up my reaction time and Marvel has since enforced it.
The weird thing is though I can pick ST or A3 now and I’ll be able to pull off stuff much easier than in SFIV. SFIV’s input system throws me off completely.
ST, MvC, and 3S
I couldn’t agree better
kof with all those hops and velocity it will squeeze your brain and meltyblood fast-paced gameplay and strict timing makes the combos a lot o more difficult to do.
GG, HNK & ST, but sf4 ruined it, so i have to go to my roots again
Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection and Virtua Fighter 5 taught me reaction. As for execution… I don’t really know. Melee, I guess.
I’d give it to KOF and Guilty Gear for inputs and execution. I had little experience with these fighters, but they actually helped me get better at some of the commands. There are still some commands that I have trouble with (U,D,B,F+P for a grab super? WTF?), but I dramatically improved doing some of the other commands.
As far as reaction, Tekken has helped me the most. I’m gonna try to pick up Marvel some day since that game gets chaotic often. That’ll also help boost my reaction speed to certain situations and moves.
(Going outside of fighting games, God Hand really improved my reaction time as well. Playing on Lvl Die really tests your reactions.)
ST/KOF for execution, MVC2 for reaction, Eternal Champions for patience!!!
For all around 2d fighter gameplay I say GG. Its extremely fats so if ur reaction time isn’t good ur done. Another thing is King in tekken, definitely gave me input timing. Also for new generation fighters, try naruto (I have the ultimate jutsu set to input mode) simple inputs wif fast execution. Plus I grew up on puzzle games too so that helps quick reactions.
Probably Street Fighter 4. Marvel taught me to block fast on reaction, but it is easier when you know what to expect, and you know its coming hella fast. I still get hit, but I can block rushdown every now and again.
Street Fighter 4 has me reacting to things completely out of the blue. It’s a game of patience and quick reactions. Vega’s combos are also a bitch so my execution has gone up because of it.
