First, let me remind you that he mostly means MVC2, not MVC3
Second, The community DOES love MVC2. Its an amazing game. So good in fact, that it did inspire Skullgirls.
That guys post was a little extreme but lets at least give credit where it’s due.
I gotta ask why they think making us wait until next Monday to see who made the Top 16 for the next voting round is a good idea. Wouldn’t it be better to reveal this stuff a few days beforehand to give people more time to adjust their voting plans? I’m just saying is all.
How much has been revealed about the future votes? Is the second character vote going to occur immediately after round 4 of vote 1? Also, are they giving updates on paypal donations so we know when/if they break $150,000 for the potential 3rd vote?
Beatrix - Her gameplay seems really interesting. I’ve always had a soft-spot for counter-heavy characters.
Minette - Cute as hell and has a level-up system similar to Frank West. Seems like awesomeness waiting to happen.
Molly - I’m hoping they go with the Graham-tron style gameplay, since Tron Bonne is one of my favorite.
Stanley - He’s a Science Shark. 'Nuff said.
Brain Drain - Wanted him in ever since he was part of Painwheel’s intro. His name rhymes and he’s a straight-up villain, which is something I believe we more of in the cast. Plus, he’s male, so haterz can’t hate.
Panzerfaust - His hand…IS A TANK! I shouldn’t have to go any further, but…his gameplay will resemble Juggernaut’s? Mmm, tasty! Let me just say this one last thing: his right arm is a lot stronger than his left arm, but not for the same reason as Tryndamere.
Beowulf - I had just recently gotten into Persona 4 Arena, and Kanji is one of my favorites in the game. This guy will also fight with a chair, is a pro-wrestler, and wears a wolf pelt like a hoodie…nuff said.
Issac - He reminds me of a crazy professor, he’s going to use time-travel during a battle, and we’ve already seen a bit of how he would function. How can you beat a time-traveler?
Stanley and Talisin where up there, but I feel like Talisin could show up in the next installment to be a rival for Big Band or something.
Also, I will never vote for any of The Trinity: the seem like the absolute perfect addition for a future installment.
-Panzerfaust: I was sold the instant I heard inspiration was drawn from Big O, my favorite giant robot period. I can totally see him doing ersatz Final Impacts with that tank arm. The notion of tank treads as chainsaws sounds suspiciously like Jack Cayman from Anarchy Reigns, another game I love. I hope he plays less like a grappler and more like a raw power character but either way he looks epic and I want him to make the cut more than any other character.
-Black Dahlia: I think Skullgirls could stand to have one more zoner and Dahlia fits the bill nicely and I really like her design. Not to mention she has story presence which is another notch in her favor. I’m pretty sure she’s the one that “killed” Miss Fortune and she’s established as the go-to killer for the Medici family so anybody who has a vendetta against those mobsters would in all likelihood have to deal with her at some point.
-Brain Drain: There really aren’t any pure evil playable characters on the current roster. Brain Drain could fix that. I’d love to see Painwheel get her revenge for what he did to her and anybody involved with the ASG Labs seems to either hate or fear him. He has good antagonist potential for at least four characters. From a gameplay perspective I can totally imagine him being a Magneto style Pixie/glass cannon. Controlling opposing teammates through snap-back also sounds cool.
-Molly: I voted for her in the hope they put her in the mech walker. It looks really great. Kind of like Tron Bonne like others said and it also makes more sense. More importantly I think her gameplay sounds incredibly fun. The idea of her being an assist that’s heavily slanted to buffing point characters intrigues me and the notion of sending an electrical pulse trough relay points immediately made me think of Doctor Strange with his Runes. It seems like a very interesting character with a lot of creative potential.
Aww, Hubrecht didn’t make it. I was hoping Armstrong’s pink-haired twin would get more support. Oh well, Minette, Feng, and Brain Drain made it. Really hope Feng or Minette get in. Might change my Brain Drain vote to Annie though. She’s starting to grow on me.
