Typical. All of the people I voted for make it in except for the one at the top of my list: Leduc.
I’m tempted to blame all the Marie fans in Japan for this.
EDIT: I’m also tempted to blame Mike Z’s previous hate on the guy (and hype for Isaac) for possibly going viral on the masses but that would just be unnecessary paranoia and a dick move if I did that.
I dunno, Mike z is a pretty influential person in the community. He could’ve been the reason Leduc’s hype was destroyed.
I agree. I think between his hatred of Leduc, his live for Isaac and demoing mechanics for 5 characters, the voting has gone imba.
EDIT: not that it bothers me but it would have been nice if he had done other mechanics as well, Marie/Regina/Brain Drain for instance, seem easy enough to do. He prolly thought their stuff was just boring to do.
I asked him about Brain Drain and he said that Brain Drain(and other characters) would take too much work to make demos for.
Leduc didn’t make it in? I’m not surprised. No one loves Leduc.
Yeah, he was on IRC yesterday too. He said it’s simply not doable, he has his hands full. Demoing a snap-back for BD would be easy enough, but would require quite a bit of debugging, methinks.
This second vote was much more difficult for me.
Although I really want Marie, I opted not to vote for her because I’m pretty sure she’ll easily make it to the next round (especially because of Japan). I didn’t vote Annie for the same reason, even though she’d probably be in my top 5. Instead I voted for Umbrella, Minette, and Brain Drain. I was certain I would vote for the first two, and I voted for Brain Drain because as much as I wanted to vote for Molly, I really feel the game should have more male characters on the roster and Brain Drain is a character that’s growing for me. Here’s to hoping Umbrella or Minette makes it to the next round!

in round two, i made my picks based on a few reasons:
first is that i would like another male character in game for both variety and because i think it may get more new people to look into playing the game.
second is if the gameplay descriptions really make me think “that sounds fun”
so i picked:
Panzerfaust - Asked for his inclusion since day one. I really like heavy attack characters.
Stanley - I think he could be amazing. Also anything that mentions Slayer and Street Sharks in the same line deserves a little attention.
Brain Drain - I think he fits in the supervillain category in a way that no other character occupies. The goddess sisters are too high up since they’re deities. Double is more a henchman. Valentine is a rival/antagonist. Marie seems like a villain that may end up as an anti-hero in the future.
i was really considering Isaac and expect to see him next round too.

Molly was a hard decision cause it was between her and feng… I really like feng but molly brings some tron nostalgia from vanilla umvc3… And When i saw that molly was in her mobilephone in the selection que… It just clicked.
I voted for Scythana, Eliza, and Feng. I have faith in all of them but I really can’t go wrong.

i dropped isaac from my previous vote since im not really too worried that he wont make it into the next round of voting. i wanted to give some of the other guys some love. especially molly.
