Which char version would you pick?

Ryu : R version (fake fb games)
Ken : R version (knee bash, super, invincibile strong dp, juggling fierce dp)
Guile : R. version (overhead, Rh Fk)
T.Hawk : O.ST version (Knockdown dive, no buggy miss animation)
Dhalsim : ST ver (Noogie noogie !! :smokin:)
Boxer : ST (throw range, no negative edge bugs, super)
Vega : ST (knockdown wall dives !)
Chun Li : ST (Neck breaker madness ! :bgrin:, 70% super)
Zangief : R
Deejay : R (just for the easier hyper fist)
Sagat : R (tiger kneex3 !, crazy super !)
Bison : R (A reversal finally and it doesn’t even hit !)
Cammy : ST (Ok I’m crazy !)
Fielong : ST (Chicken Wing, safer specials)
Blanka : R
Honda : O.ST (Instant HHS, better normals and throw mind games)

For T.Hawk discussion I really find it funny why such a low tier character got so much attention during Remix development only to go back to square 1 and make him worst in some matches, the same thing applies to Fielong’s changes if they were not broken don’t fix them, but that mentality got reversed with Remix’s development.

I think the main reason is there just are not top consultants for low tier characters here. Sirlin used top players to consult, which was smart, just not any top T.hawk mainers around for him to use. The try harder comment I think summed it up pretty well on the direction his remixing was going.

I will say Sirlin did put a lot of time into Hawk though. His post about him in the update on his site is the one of the longest if not the longest.

I think the right effort was there, just some things that needed to be fleshed out more with people who play him as a main.

Yeah honestly. Whos the “top player” sirlin consulted for t.hawk cause everyone else who doesnt play him seems to think they know how bad he is and what he can do when they have 0 fucking idea.

Couldn’t they just make it so that the Hawk Dive knocked down from short range and didn’t if he did it from too high? Would that make him better or worse?

They should have left his dive alone. If they really wanted to make him scrub friendly like they seem to be, they should have given two dives. The old one, and the new one thats “safe”

I feel that most characters are definitely better, but there are a select few that have undeniably been nerfed such as Boxer, Claw, Dhalsim, and Sagat. Akuma has been nerfed but he needed it, on the flip side so has Chun Li which seemed uncalled for. T.Hawk and Honda are on the bench for me. Hawk got some buffs but still seems to suck just as much as ever, and Honda feels like a different character altogether.

You should probably play against a good hawk before you say he sucks. Hes not a beast but he definitely doesnt suck

If you think about it a T.Hawk version with 2 dives, and no whiff animation will not rock Hawk into mid-tier or top tier at all, he will stay where he is cause the major problem with him is getting in ! and the Hawk Dive is punishable by 80% of the normals in this game.

I think the “Top players” behind the balancing of Remix just took that S-Rank O.Hawk Japanese tourney thing seriously and started to have nightmares about a T.Hawk player from wonderland winning HD Remix@Evo  !

You’re crazy if you think R.Sagat is better than O.Sagat.

Like most people on this site, I have very limited experience versus even competent Hawk players, so I am going by theory fighter. As I look at the roster and evaluate match-ups, I can’t see much if anyone at all that Hawk has a clear advantage against. I see Hawk as still remaining bottom tier cause there isn’t anyone I would place him above.

I beat Hondas with T.Hawk that just hold db shrug. Ask RenoRob, ShinBlanka, whoever, The match sucks but is winnable.

I dont think that at all. I think that two dives would help him in 3 of his worst matchups. Safe dive for sim, and knockdown dive against guile and honda (andi guess dee jay too). If the whiff animation wasnt so screwy, i wouldnt care so much about it. Old dive wasnt “punishable” by 80% of the normals. I dont even know where you got that figure or how you could even think that was true. I can think of a few normals that could punish it (sim like anything, rog st.fierce [walk forward a bit], immediate jump roundhouse with guile [must block high i think]) but other than that I dont think any normal can punish his dive. Sure theres a handful that can stuff it if you time it right. However, the risk reward is not in the opps. favor and generally, smart hawk players only dive over a fireball, laggy move, or when itll hit.
