I would say that, for men… okay, to relate this so it doesn’t sound like a rant - Anime likes to portray men in comedic situations where they get physically hit. In the true feminism movement, standing for gender equality, they would complain about this. Men getting hit for comedy? I’m sure they wouldn’t like it if it happened to a woman. And yet do they complain when it happens to a man? No. Because they do not stand for equality. They stand for superiority. In the year 2013, women still think they are oppressed like dogs and fed crap to eat.
I think men just don’t care - well, depending on the type of man you are. I think most men are just accepting because in the long run, there’s more positives for men than there are negatives. This has always been a male dominated world, and most likely it always will be. Sure, women are getting their footholds in, for example, Congress and whatnot, but the majority of power holders are men.
There’s an old saying. Men want to control the world, women want to control men.
So, inadvertently, by controlling men, you control the power. Men already have the power.
Regarding the type of men who care as opposed to the one’s who don’t, there are many fighters of misandry out there. YouTube has many of them, exposing just how sexist modern commercials are towards men. Modern commercials are always portraying men as some bumbling clowns when a woman walks by, tripping over themselves. Or yet again for comedic humor and the women laughing at his expense. But flip the roles, and the women would be complaining from here to China on how women are treated like dirt and objectified.
I don’t hear women complaining about, for example, how men are objectified in the media as well. Your typical Calvin Klein ad has shirtless men for the entirety of the commercial. And women enjoy that. But as soon as something a man enjoys comes on, we are pigs for liking it. Really?
Women logic - If men like it, they are perverts. If they don’t like it, they are gay.

And in regards to fighting misandry, women are much louder than men are. Still thinking it’s 50 years ago where women couldn’t even vote. That’s why misogyny stands out so much more. There’s a study that showed women talk about 13K more words than men do. Women love to be loud. They love to talk. Making themselves look like victims in the modern century, when clearly they aren’t anymore.
I would say that the modern feminist is a male oppressor. She does not stand for equality. She thinks women are still treated like garbage.

Since you actually have a brain, unlike some other posters, I’ll give you another pretty serious response. If I were you, I’d be careful what I call “logically sound” (and I think I know more than most about proof and logical soundness). I told you before, I see the “proof” that’s offered. Did it ever occur to you that women have always been pursued by men, who were expected to pay for dinner and take charge on dates? Surely this was the case in 1900, right? Did women have it better then? So that argument is worthless. Sort of embarrassing too, since it claims that women have some powerful “sex strength” that allows them to control men. And it comes from a community not very well known for understanding women. Ad hominem is for individuals, making generalizations about large groups is just statistics.
You might also consider that there is a difference between a reason for something and a justification. So maybe women make less because they work less hours due to unpaid maternity leave (you should also question why something so important to society is essentially a monetary punishment to women, and whether that’s fair) or they work more part time jobs. Maybe they want to work full time for more money and benefits.
Remember that this initially was about women having it better in Western society* (it was ostensibly initially about games, but I think we all know that’s not the real issue here), and if you think that’s been proven, then you are indeed associating yourself with dumbasses. But then again you don’t think it’s been proved, or that it’s even true, since you say that maybe in 30 years we’ll see a matriarchy, implicitly admitting that that’s not the case now. So we agree on the main point, but if you want to keep thinking I want a matriarchy or even that I identify as a feminist, then go right ahead.
*It does seem to me (for what that’s worth) that in Europe, or at least some parts of it, women have it about as well as men, so maybe some Western societies have achieved equality. That’s much different than women clearly having it better than men, though.
…but how is it equality when there are clear legal advantages and rights women have that men don’t. The examples that have been provided to show"women still have it so much worse"have in a word been laughable. This isn’t to say that men are oppressed or living under a matriarchy because it isn’t necessary to believe that for simply staying that women in developed nations have it better. I’d personally argue that the cultural zeitgeist is extremely gynocentric which is why I think these rights and advantages exist for women. Therefore by pointing out the hypocrisy and double standards, maybe these issues can be corrected and equalized.

As for legal rights that women have that men don’t (I guess you mean affirmative action, and I’m not sure it’s as extensive or oppressive to men as you think), that’s in response to previously existing inequalities. Whether those inequalities in the workplace are now gone is the whole issue, and I don’t pretend to be an expert on the topic (but I also don’t see a workforce dominated by women either), so I can’t say one way or the other. I could probably find 50 studies that say they are gone and 50 that say they aren’t. My overall impression, however, is that those inequalities are not gone, and here’s one reason: the reaction to laws like these is always to say that they were needed 20 years ago, and that now everything’s good and we don’t need them anymore. It’s the same with the civil rights movement, with unions, with environmental protection laws, with government oversight of corporations. And in my experience the people saying that are always wrong. I’m positive that anyone who says that 20 years ago women faced discrimination, but not now, would say the same exact thing if they were transported to 1993.
As for the legal advantages, specifically child custody and jail sentences, those were admitted right away by a few people, but then everyone said they were ignored. I don’t know about the jail sentence thing, but the divorce laws and child custody might have an explanation that you should have seen. Could it be that the same societal reasons that explain why women make less money also come into play here? We have a lawyer-an actual expert-who posts here, who said that men usually pay more because they tend to make more money. He was immediately shouted down. Maybe women get custody because they’re assumed to be better at child care than men, which would certainly be a good explanation. Men face a certain disadvantage, but there’s a reason so it’s ok. Same argument you use for women’s pay. Furthermore, there was a video posted of a feminist (the one with pink hair a few pages back), where she actually says that feminists don’t like this situation because it assumes that women are automatically better caregivers and nurterers, a patriarchal notion. So even some feminists agree with you.
Also, affirmative action affects black people too, so for consistency you have to admit that black men (oh god and especially black women), have it better than white men. Or you have to admit that there may be some areas that favor women, for whatever reason, but that doesn’t mean they have it better overall. You can’t have it both ways, and you have to consider the big picture and not lose the forest for the trees.
