everything i see says they were supposed to be out in aug…so where are they??? no place near me has the…no video game store, not kb, not toys are us, not walmart, not target…are these ever actually comming out???

well to keep it basic, the highly detailed, multiply articulated figures done by SOTA are more for the collectors and fans and won’t be as mass produced as most toy lines. they’ll b at more specialist places, best bet to get them will be gamestop
kb will b getting some street fighter figures done by jazwares which will have ryu, ken and gouki which all use the same ryu mold as SOTA’s for the body but these will be cheaply made, mass produced and show a significant reduction in quality. these will be aimed at kids.

i’m not rantiung that they’re not out yet. my “rant” was that they won’t be in major chain stores. i think it’s a stupid move to limit them to gamestop and suncoast…the suncoast near me jacks up the price of everything so high that it’s retarded.
plus i’ve had 2 of each figure preordered at gamestop for 3 months now.
so fuck you if i’m wondering where they are. the date keeps getting pushed back and i’ve dropped over a hundred bucks on fucking toys. i’m just wondering when i’ll get them.
when i got street fighter ae yesterday and they had an ad for the toys “in stores aug” and when i buy every cover of every issue and they say in stores now, and i read the write up in egm for 2 months ago that says “in stores while you read this” i have to wonder if either a) they did not come out yet or b) gamestop was yanking my crank and never called me. either way i just wanted to know so fuck you sir.
Uhhh… did it ever occur to you that all of the major chain stores REJECTED the Street Fighter line? Did you think that SOTA Toys didn’t WANT the money from Wal-Mart and Target and Toys R Us?! Street Fighter is not considered to be a prime license that’s guaranteed to sell merchandise, and as a result the larger stores like Wal-Mart refused to carry the line.
It’s not a stupid move on anyone’s part. SOTA Toys did their best to push the large mass market chain stores to carry the Street Fighter figures, but it just wasn’t gonna happen.

That’s exactly right. The “second-rate” series by Jazware is going to be at a much lower retail price point, and only include the “most” popular characters such as Ryu, Ken, and Akuma. Large chains don’t feel there’s a market for characters like Sagat, Sodom, T. Hawk, Gen, Adon, and obscure characters like those that SOTA Toys is making for collectors.
Also note… The reason they were delayed until mid/late September was to make sure they were of the best quality possible. The ones they got in August were simply not up to par with the prototypes. It was for the better, and well worth it as the finished products now look even better than the prototypes.
According to Gamestop, the action figure should be out on Sept 11, 2004. That is this Sat. I’ve been waiting so long for these fucken figures.

Just got my SDCC Evil ryu and Psycho bison and i must say the detail is superb!!! but i’m just a little disappointed by the scale of the figure. When i compared it to my Resaurus figure, The SOTA figure are so much smaller, i just wish they were in the same scale as the resaurus figure.
the figures were intended to be of the same scale as toybiz’s marvel legends
therefore - crazy Marvel vs Capcom displays and battles
- not alot of figures are 8 inch scale so would have been a hard decision for SOTA but i think they’ve used the 6 inch scale with good reason to it

I called my friend who work at gamestop, he say that they should be arriving anytime soon. It was scheduled for an oct 1st release but gamestop dont get shipments in on sat. so it should be mon. I hope he’s right.
But the first is a Friday. So there is hope.
