Shit, I didn’t think it’d be out this soon. I’m hyped as hell. But I’ll have to wait till it’s in stock at Amazon. There’s no way I can pay nearly $40 for this. But $26? Just right.
Better check that again, I just picked it up today
Yeah bookstores have different dates and publishers don’t stress comic book shops about when they can put non-comics on the racks. It happens. The date for comic book shops is still next Thursday though.
Yeah, just getting the word out that some places have it already.
It’s 100x the book that Eternal Challenge was. I’m glad I stumbled on it because I have so many art books I originally wasn’t going to bother getting another, but when I got to look through it… holy shit this is an excellent book. Maybe the best Street Fighter art book ever, in fact.
Udon puts out Apple Vol. 3 next week! :clapdos:
The manga for Fate/Stay Night vol. 5 comes out next week! I just mention that because the Capcom produced Fate/Unlimited Codes game is out for the PSP heh! The story’s really good though. I prefer the manga to the Fate/Stay anime so far.
Next Friday through Saturday I’ll be at the NY Anime Festival. Keep an eye on the Convention thread on this forum where I’ll describe everything I see and do along with providing lots of pictures! Not much Capcom related stuff going on there, but Yoshiyuki Tomino, the creator of Gundam will be there and Capcom ghost makes those Gundam vs. games for Bandai/Namco/Banpresto whatever, close enough… :wonder:
Quick heads up. Tonight on the Syfy channel they are going to air Street Fighter Alpha Generations at 11:00. Okay, that’s all normal and all but at midnight they are going to air chapters 1 and 2 od the Street Fighter Motion Comic! It will be followed by a Voltron Motion Comic! Motion Comics on TV… WHOA… I never bothered to purchase the SF Motion Comic since I’m not really into those things but I’ll be sure to watch it on TV, FOR FREE!
I honestly just found this out right now when I turned on my TV to see what Syfy was going to give on Ani-Monday now that Gundam 00 wrapped. If I knew about this earlier I would’ve mentioned it earlier…
Checked the SF Motion Comic last night on Syfy. The voice acting is… Wow… it’s REALLY BAD IMHO. It’s nice to see Udon’s logo up on the screen and some of the comic pages. Ken Siu-Chong’s dialog holds up well but not the execution thanks too… the really poor voice acting.
Looks like they will run it as a series so I’ll watch on TV for free. Doesn’t look like something I would buy oooh…
The Voltron Motion Comic was a little better. The voices in that one are a lot closer to the original dub of the old series. Especially compared to the SF Motion Comic one.
Udon puts out a second volume of Fairy Idol Kanon from their kids manga line this week.
Alvin Lee is having a Street Fighter Tribute coloring contest. Color one of his drawings to win. In case anyone is interested in trying! You can win an original Alvin Lee head-sketch of any character you want.
Gosd, we better get that Final Fight comic. I’m gonna scream if Street Fighter Legends: Adon comes out.
While I like Omar, I don’t find the Legends series adds much at all. I haven’t bought the last 2 issues of Chun. Much more interested in IV and Turbo.
Still pissedsme off we have to wait like, spring of next year to get III, when it was all ready to go a year ago.
Bit of confusion here…did the Darkstalkers Tribute book actually come out yet?
It hasn’t hit comic book stores yet. I can’t confirm / deny for bookstores and other places though.
Haven’t checked for SF comics since I got Ultimate Edition Vol. 1.
Are there any new paperbacks out to catch up on the series (I think it’s SF II now, not sure) or should I wait it out for another Ultimate Edition?
No collections for the newer stuff (SFT Turbo, SFV, SFL Chun-Li) out yet. Can’t answer if you should wait for another Ultimate Collection or not though, that’s up to you really.
Missed the boat on this lol! You can read the manga Udon is putting out online called 1520, FOR FREE! This has only been up for AN ENTIRE YEAR lol! 16 chapters are up.
After getting a few comic book collection (some hard covers), I’ve decided to stop going with the monthly comic book route.
I’m thinking of getting the entire Udon SF comic experience through trade paper backs: Is there anything I should look out for?
e.g. Are the two versions of SF Vol.1 any different besides the cover?
So far, I’ve seen TPB on Amazon for:
SF Vol 1: Round One - FIGHT!
SF Vol 2: The New Challengers
SF Vol 3: Fighter’s Destiny
SF Vol 4: Bonus Round
SF Vol 5: Kick it into Turbo!
SF Legends: Sakura
SF Legends: Chun Li
SFIV Vol 1
Does this cover everything so far?
That looks like it’ll cover everything (Except for Turbo issues 7-8, which have already been released in comic format. I’m sure another trade collecting the final 6 issues of the Turbo arc will soon follow). The only other difference between the two versions of the first SF Paperback is that the new edition has thicker paper stock. The original had thin glossy paper stock. Also, if you can, you might still want to see if you can still collect via the comics. I’m not sure how Udon’s TPB sales are, but their Street Fighter comic sales aren’t very high at all, so they need all the support they can get. But if you decide to just go the trade route that’s cool too. Udon can’t really release the comics on time in any consistent manner anyway.
Thanks for the info, Saturius.
I’ll try to find whichever one is the new cover then for SF Vol1 (So far, I’ve seen Cammy/Chun, Bison/Ryu, and maybe one more?)
Udon drops the Darkstalkers Tribute book in comic book stores next week!
