No idea even thought they are on the Exhibitor’s List for the con so they will be attending. Maybe you will be able to get your hands on the Darkstalkers Tribute book like they had at Anime Expo? Keep your eye on their blog I suppose. If I come across anything else I’ll toss it up.
To anyone who has never seen Udon at a con, the artists do an insane amount of sketches and they always have a good set up for this. Hell they will sketch anyone so long as you bring reference if it’s not a character they are familiar with. Doesn’t have to be a Capcom character, any fictional character you want (again, just bring reference). They usually sell head shots / portraits for fairly low prices, full body pics cost a little more.
I’m assuming after the SF4 comic wraps but I’m not certain.
There was some information regarding SF3 in Street Fighter II Turbo #7. In case you haven’t gotten around to checking the issue yet:
The Street Fighter III comic is slated for early 2010 and will take place after SF2 Turbo wraps with 12 issues.
The SF3 backups will return next month in SF2 Turbo! Issue #8 will feature an Ibuki backup story that will be drawn by Omar Dogan! Issue #9 is centered around Oro (no artist was named) and the back up in #10 will be about Q by artist Bob Strang!
Hey where’s my Remy backup? So asks Remy’s only fan… :wonder:
Hella random but the Sengoku Basara anime is coming to the US! This is on of the best video game to anime adaptations EVER! It’s way over the top and insane! You have not lived until you’ve experienced a ‘Kasugasm’ or have heard Date’s Engrish. “**SHOW GUYS THAT!” ** The entire series is fan subbed now but this is really a great show to own. It’s getting a second season too. Hopefully Capcom will bring one of the games stateside.
When it’s straight to DVD Funimation leaves stuff alone, with the option of subs and/or dubs. It’s really only when they try to put stuff on TV when they screw with things (DBZ).
For example all of the left over ADV shows they picked up are all your basic dubs and subs DVDs. They didn’t change the music or intros, or edit, none of that stuff.
They don’t really have a venue to put anything on TV anymore really. Cartoon Network doesn’t care about anime that much right now and Sci Fi seems to only run either Bandai shows or older stuff like Rave Master. Maybe the Anime Network but I don’t have that and whenever they advertise, it seems like they are running old stuff.
If anything they’ll toss up the episodes in English up on PS3’s Playstation Store after the DVDs come out, that’s kind of it. Like they did with the Devil May Cry anime. I don’t have a 360 so I’m not sure if Funimation has the same deal with them.
Back to the thread topic, can’t wait for the Ibuki story next issue and the Q story got me intrigued. I wonder how much room Capcom is giving Udon to work with him.
SFIII in 2010? …damn. Thats a helluva wait. Well, no choice in the matter.
After SFII Turbo wraps up, I wonder what else they got in mind for Chamba. I’ve been a fan of his for quite some time now. (was even lucky enough to get a sketch from him of one of my own characters awhile back)
I may have already seen the art for the Ibuki backup story from Dogan. If it’s the one where she’s fighting C. Viper, I guarantee it’s hella tight.
Yeah, I think so too! I hope that Udon will also publish that other enterbrain story of Ryu vs. Charlie. Although I don’t beleve so, cause there are Allen Snyder and Darun Mister from Arika and Udon doesn’t have the rights for those characters…
I spoke to Omar Dogan 2 years ago or so about SFEX characters at the NY Comic con. I talked to him about how he slid Skullomania in the Sakura mini and how in one of their sketch books IIRC there were drawings of Skullo and Shadowgeist. Basically he said when Capcom of Japan saw that stuff they raised an eyebrow because Udon does not have the rights to SFEX / Arika characters. Somehow Capcom let it slide.
Since Capcom is bringing Fate/Unlimited Codes to the PSP via direct download to the US (Capcom produced the game, it was made by Cavia and Eighting while Type Moon owns the property, a lot of names oooh…) I figured I’d go check out the manga, Fate/Stay Night. 3 volumes of it are out in English.
Now Fate/Stay Night did start out as a… Um… “Adult Visual Novel” in Japan (the key word here is ‘Adult…’ there’s… ZEX… ) but the manga isn’t like that. It’s written for All Ages. So I’m not pedalling naughty stuff so no phone calls from people’s mothers KTHNKBYE. :razzy:
Checked out the first volume and I was surprised… how good the story was? :wow: Yeah I know, considering the ‘Adult’ source material. The artwork was nothing special but the story itself was really interesting and after the first book I wanted to see what happened next. Especially since they ended it on a cliff hanger. Read the second volume and I will get to volume 3 by the end of the week. Volume 4 is either out or coming soon.
There’s an anime for it too (which is also ‘All Ages’ so again no calls from parents ROFL) but me I tend to prefer reading manga to watching anime. So I guess I’ll look into that once I’m further along in the manga.
Oh and I did get this FREE PSP sticker of Saber Lily from a Japanese Magazine called Gamaga. Guess that’s what kicked off my interest lol -
Anyway looking forward to the PSP game Fate/Unlimited Codes heh.
Ah well something to kill the time while I wait for more Udon comics…
Udon will release the SF 20th Anniversary art book in September. I picked up the Japanese one last Saturday only because a Japanese book store near me had it on the shelf and I couldn’t resist lol! It’s a really great book. :lovin:
I’m interested but is there like a list with a chronological order that could guide as to which comics to read for the Street Fighter series and the other Capcom series?
Atleast Joe kept Violent Ken’s hair normal instead of the stoner poof he had in his svc art. , and shouldn’t evil sakura be cookie skinned? :P(nitpicknagnag love the cover :D)
Thanks for the clear up Sano, hopefully Sengoku is left alone for the most part.
SF Vol. I thru IV followed by SFL Sakura Legends. You can read the free online RS comic before SFL Sakura Legends if you want, or after. It doesn’t really matter. The Darkstalkers book that follows that is in a different universe so you can read that whenever.
hey guys I have a ?..I’m new to the Street fighter comic book and I wanted to know which SF book has a bunch of stuff about Akuma? I’m looking to mod my arcade stick and I want to make a template of Akuma but in the comic book pages and if anyone can help me in where can I preview some pages of akuma in the comic book I would appreciate it…sorry for sounding like a noob…
