The Devil May Cry gaming series, 1-4 has shipped 10 million copies so far! The only reason I’m saying this here is because of this tidbit I came across on Capcom’s investor’s website -
“Capcom is applying the brand power of the Devil May Cry series to various other forms of entertainment, such as comics, novels, action figures, and anime. This has lead the franchise to be the frontrunner of Capcom?s ?Single Contents Multiple Usage? strategy, contributing greatly to the company?s profits. Aside from the announcement of a Blu-ray release of the Devil May Cry anime today at the Tokyo International Anime Fair 2009, Capcom plans to continue developing more franchise releated products.”
Of course they could be talking about previous comics and it is a Japanese website that is translated into English, so DMC manga is definitely possible. But I’m hoping they are talking about the DC/Wildstorm Devil May Cry comic that is supposed to come out at some point, because this is about as close to an update on that situation as I can get, blarg…
Didn’t mention this as I just noticed it in the comic book store lol! The Legend Zelda Oracle of Seasons Manga Vol. I came out this week! Capcom (mainly their Flagship division, headed by Shinji Mikami) ghost made that game for Nintendo, along with Oracle of Ages and The Minish Cap.
Yeah. They are working on the translations last I read.
EDIT: Oh no got it confused with the SF manga compilation one. Don’t see why this book wouldn’t come over here too though. Capcom USA does have the rights to SF.
Resident Evil 5 interview with Chris Kramer of Capcom USA. Towards the end he talks a bit about the new Resident Evil comic by Wildstorm, issue 1’s out now.
Nah maybe one of these years. Obama fix the economy lol! I’ll go to the NY Anime Fest in September and hopefully back to Japan next year. If you do go to the San Diego con please take lots of pictures and tell us about your experience in the Convention Thread.
In yesterday’s issue of Street Fighter IV #2, Udon announced that they are going to release new Mega Man art books and manga!
