So, I try playing sf4 at nights when I have a chance, so everything is good until I go to the live menu and try finding a challenger. it takes like 15-20 secs to search for results, so i select the x player and its either ‘unable to play’ or ‘session full’ so i go and search again and it takes me a couple of tries until i finally get to play someone. in other words, I basically need to wait roughly about 2-3 mins before i get to find someone again. That is just BS! its really annoying, sometimes i get tired of trying and simply shut down my xbox. do you guys have the same problem? my connection is 5 download 1 upload and it seems like this is the only game that frustrates the hell out of me.
I’ve found it quicker most times to create a match yourself that somebody else can join. Give that a shot.
The way I find matches and is usually fast is just putting Arcade request on. I set it to Championship. And If it doesnt find it right away you can beat up on the comp for some practice.
Create a match. Someone will find you. I almost never do anything but create a match. Also take off all of your non SFIV friends. That way you’ll almost always have a friend to play SFIV with. Fill that list up with IV players.
i had a similar issue but i opened the ports on my router for my 360 and it made a huge difference. you should look into that.
I am having the same problem it’s annoying as hell and the games I do get into they only have like 100 battle points or less!
Create a match, use DMZ settings for you xbox or open up some ports. I always host :wgrin:
Hey I’ve noticed the same thing. I think I have it figured out. So they only give you three choices and for me, the lag is horrible on all of them. If I sit and wait, the lag will change on one or two. I can then join the match.
I find matches quicker by just creating a match. If you don’t want to wait and what not, just play arcade mode on a hard difficulty to wait for someone to come in.
Yup.
Online for SF4 is really bad.
Matchmakings, Modes, everything.
Sry Capcom but, you guys did a bad job on this.
Online fighters have always been bad… this is not something new.
This pretty much sums it up, and I’ve noticed the “unable to play” glitch happens because of fight request. It always happens when I click on someone who’s using it.
Yeah they really need to change this. At least let me do fight request in training mode instead of arcade. Their were times pre-championship mode that I beat the whole arcade mode without getting anyone.(haven’t really tried it since) Now, I pretty much moved on to other games, and am actually having fun when I turn my xbox on. Waiting forever to play isn’t fun. I’m sorry, I really gave this a shot.
This is just my exp. for others to read. I don’t care to debate with anyone. I’ll probably still get on to play because no one can escape SF FO.
do you have it set for ranked or player match? i just set it on champ mode, and i always get spam by fighting request,
It’s easier to search for matches if you go into custom match and change the setting from Stability to Any.
When I create a match I have to weed out all the connections under 4 bars. When I search I have to deal with whats mentioned but at least I only try to connect to 4 or 5 bar connections. Either way it takes time between matches but sometimes I get lucky.
Btw 3 bars is shit.
I do hope they fix it soon.
Don’t expect it.
totally agree with you. what really makes me shut down my xbox is when i lose and try to find a victim right away and get the ‘unable to play’ lol
Sometimes you get lucky with the 3 bars so I wouldn’t always weed them out. The bars don’t really seem to mean much any ways unless it’s like 2 or 1 bar games. I’ve played in 3 bar games that felt better than 4 bar games. I usually set up a threshold for when I’ll play a 3 bar player. If I’m doing create a match and kick out 2 3 bar players and the 3rd player to enter the room is a 3 bar player…I just say F it and play them. Sometimes it’s bad and sometimes it’s good. Make sure you have a C.Viper avatar. That gets people entering your room quickly. LOL.
I have no problems getting a match on 360. Its rather fast. I normally create a room and only play players with 3 bars and up. I kick the rest out.
If you guys havent port forward your router for your respective consoles, your gonna have issues.
