Maybe they could change the properties of one of his spires so that it went a further distance but was heavily punishable on block. That way he would have a good ranged punish tool but it wouldn’t be abusable.
Maybe his EX version could do more damage an just break through Blankas ball completely.

Guy vs Gief
Juri vs Honda is bad but no way the worst in the game. Genkibot says it’s 4-6.
But Guy vs Gief is a terrible match. We don’t see it too often, but is really bad.
I think Sim would be.a good secondary to help cover Hawk’s bad matchups…
Every time I play Chun-Li against Akuma or Rufus, I want to hit something. She’d be able to punish Akuma’s sweep on block with Hosenka if he couldn’t cancel it into Raging Demon. Fortunately, that’s getting changed in Ultra. Still, EX Spinning Bird Kick loses to dive kicks. I’d say those are easily 3-7 in their favor, at present.

Personally I think Adon’s a better fit. Especially since T. Hawk and Dhalsim both have pretty bad wakeup options.
Hawk-Gief is the worse matchup that I know.
why? I play both characters but I’m a gief specialist. These matchups I played so far were pretty even I think.
Maybe they could just not touch the hawk-blanka match up. People should re-learn to counterpick anyway.
I don´t see any real possibilities to “fix” this matchup. I think this matchup will be forever bad for Hawk, but it is not like that Blanka also has some really bad matchups, don´t know, why Gief and Hawk players are always against picking up a counter pick.
Or to not play Hawk in the first place
Counterpicking makes sense if you play a strong character with a few shitty matchups
But why would you play a shitty character with few good matchups? Counterpick every single game with Cammy, better results.
besides the blanka-matchup I don’t feel like that thawk is a bad character. he can play very solid in most MUs with skillful hands.
we saw it right there in the evo finals how far character specialists can come.
The thing is you can learn how to beat Hawk with Blanka in about 30 minutes of practice.
I don’t even think you need 30 minutes.
If you know how to charge down back and can read a move list, you can probably beat hawk with blanka
At least with sagat you have to know to not throw bad shots and get some good reaction uppercuts. Maybe forward roundhouse here and there. Still bad but not close to hawk blanka
It’s cause it’s not their way, it is a sense of honor of pride to stick through the high points and the lows of their character. I don’t know maybe others don’t care, but I really like when players stick with one character even in disadvantaged match ups.
Pride won’t do them any good when they’re out of the tournament, why should a Sim player enter a tournament knowing that being proud and sticking with his character will give him a very low % to win the whole thing unless he was extremely lucky to avoid horrible matchups? He doesn’t even have to pick up a top tier alternative, just another character to cover Sim’s bad matchups but he must be equally good with him.
If anything, it’s pretty arrogant IMO to expect overcoming several 3-7 matchups against some of the best players in the world and proving you’re That much better than them.
