Hawk vs Blanka hands down. Thats proabably an -1 - 11 in Blanka’s favor. Literally can’t do anything against him. Even if he’s playing stupid you can’t do anything.
This isn’t even a particularly lopsided example (and the Hakan doesn’t ever go for jumping MP which does great against Sim) but look at how Sim’s zoning is quite literally shut down entirely and he is forced to play weird rushdown / instant overhead shenanigans that would lose in a long set.
I think Seth Vs. Gief might be worse than Sagat Vs. Gief. Poongko usually makes quick work of Gief players, he plays lame until he gets an opportunity to start his mixups and he has shown that you can put pressure on Gief with a smart offense.
Dhalsim´s normals trade too much in this matchup, but for his disadvantage only. Either Hakans F+MP pushes him into the corner or a YOLO slide trades into a hard knockdown. Do not forget Hakans SPDs let his opponent landing away from Hakan or his DDT will carry them through the half of the stage. I mean, Infil needed mainly 5 seconds to put Dhalsim into the corner lol. Corner means mainly death for Sim. To play rushdown with Sim against Hakan doesn´t look like a great idea tbh.
Anyway, Guile vs Bison is -.-. Wish Bison would have more hard knockdowns.
Ive always found Sim vs Makoto harder than Hakan. Especially if the Makoto player know the match up.
Ive had game after game where Ive nearly won the round but the Makoto lands an Ultra, juggles me
and then I become dizzy. Literally it’s all over with one mistake.
Who do you guys think put Kimo into losers brackets ? LuckyD. Now the match wasn’t streamed, and maybe LuckyD counterpicked, but as far as I know, I’ve never seen him play anyone but Dhalsim.
I think we are jumping the ship a little too early regarding Hakan vs Sim. The match might not be as bad as some think.
I have also seen T.Hawk players winning against Blanka or Bisons against Guile. Does it mean, these matchups aren´t also not that bad?
I doubt that winning in a bad matchup is making it much better than it should be.
The thing is, characters, matchups and also the metagame aren´t static, they always change with each new techs or strategies, so this is what happened here with Dhalsim vs Hakan, Infiltration was the engine for it.
