EDIT: I do not compare myself at all with Shock…He IS the authority of the UMK.com kommunity. I call him the MK Professor becasue he knows every nook & cranny of UMK3. Any serious questions should be PM’d to him for the best answers.
If your opponent does a D+LK the homing missiles won’t hit. And a correctly timed D+LK beats a teleport uppercut. So it’s not even a good trap. Also, the missiles do not come out active, they have to curve up and then begin to curve back down. And if you are playing someone that knows the game they can run in and combo you and be doing an attack that cannot be hit by the homing missile when it connects.
Sektor is good but only because the vast majority of the characters can be used even in high level play. However he isn’t top tier. Especially not because of noobish, nonfunctional tactics.
I know about UMK3 but im not a super good player. The point is top players have tier’d the MK games there not noobs, they know how to win and what works. Trying to say you know more then then top players is stupid, thats why I listen to people who know what there talking about, other then some random noob who thinks Kabal is god tier when he knows nothing about the game.

God Tier means this: Gill in Third Strike, Geese in Neo Wave, Serious Mr. Karate in SVC Chaos, Shin Akuma and Ultimate Rugal in CVS2, and so on. Did I miss anyone?
PS: The missiles do work at ranged distance. You can have more than 2 on the screen. The highest I got were 4 missiles on the screen
As someone who played the shit out of UMK3 when it was big, and who has played Street Fighter for nearly 16 years now, I will tell you that this is not true. UMK3 is most definitely the most balanced of all the 2D MK games, and it is better balanced than SOME Street Fighter games… but not all of them.
I’m the same way. I play the game a lot and have been playing for a while but I’m pretty meh. I’m going to order a stick from Arcade in a Box pretty soon, so I can do better. Piece of shit 360 pad…

Wow… Serious Mr. Karate? How bout Geese or Zero? The two most broken characters in SvC? THEY are god tier. Serious Mr. Karate is good yes, but Geese and Zero break the game. They have infinites and insane damage potential.
Shin Akuma and Ultimate Rugal? Are you serious? Have you ever even picked up CvS2? The two characters that take the most damage (besides vega without his mask) are god tier? Amazing news to me. Even on highest difficulty against the comp, they arent even close to god tier. Jeez, talk about having no idea what you’re talking about

im talking about tier wise, what capcom game has at least 10 top tiers? Kabal can be beaten its not like other top tiers havent won tournaments. NightWolf can infinite combo Kabal if he makes 1 mistake; same thing with Reptile and Kung-lao. Human Smoke only has to do 2 combos and Kabal dies.
Edit: all you have to do to beat Sektor is keep rushing him down.

Very, very true about the UMK3 Tiers…And dont forget Ermac also…ONE wrong move and Ermac can put you down 100% easily. Ermac’s pop-up is also identical to H.Smoke, so dont ever sleep on Ermac. And Kano…ahhh man. The possibilites with Kano are endless.
To me it does, it gives the game more variety; and its not like UMK3 is that broken. Still though Id rather play UMK3 then MVC2 or CVS2. ST is still my favorite fighting game a long with UMK3 and KOF 2k2.
