Whats so great about Melty Blood?

I agree.

;p

I think in the anime fag community, this post qualifies as a “burn”.

man whats up with all these stupid japanese fighters who wants to play a game where people shout shit i cant understand like allyoucan and keekoshow and soni kaboom and the graphics look like they from one of those stopid animes i like reel fighting games like mortal kombat deception thats hardcore you can rip off some guys head lol

Pasty otaku nerds = FTL

Lots of people in this thread need to die. Are we still calling people nerds on fighting game forums? And the rest of you nerds, stop proving these assholes right. All of you go sit in the corner.

GFB: I realize there aren’t many lolis in the game. It’s a joke. I’ve actually played MB a decent amount, back when I had a stick wired up for USB. It’s not too bad of a game, but the graphics really throw me off. I mean, I’m all about 2D, but MB just looks blocky. SF2 looks better than MB.

As far as my balls falling off for playing as a 9 year old girl: Quite the opposite in fact. My raging erection never subsides when I play as young underage girls in video games. That’s why I’m banned from playing the Genesis “Little Mermaid” game and why Nickelodeon is blocked in my house because I watched too much LazyTown.

I also think Frankie from Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends is friggin hot.

And asians are yellow.

Did I miss anything?

Nope, I think that’s everything.

I’ve played a pretty good deal of FT and I really did enjoy it. Are the backgrounds bland? Yea. I’d say the sprites, while not as detailed as 3.S sprites still move as fluidly. The controls are responsive and it plays a lot like GGX, if you like that game. The defense button works well, when it works. To be honest the theme of the game is kind of sickening. I can’t really put my finger on it. Japanese school girls and blood filled stages? Doesnt really do it for me. The game plays well, so I can let that slide.

Um GG isnt that balanced either, mostly just a myth that was perpetuated. Dont know about Slash though.

Not that bad balance necessarily makes a bad game mind you.

Must not be those two since there’s only one blood filled stage (looks terrible, especially with the pixelated, mutilated body parts) and two girls who actually are schoolgirls (really the same person, as the other one is just her turned into a vampire). Keep on trying though.

Frankie is actually legal though, you sicko…

Slash is more balanced than #R, I’ll say that much.

In refrence to my comment on it ‘borrowing’ from GG, well it’s just that the characters each have their own style of gameplay that you don’t quite see in other fighting games.

Though at the very start this game was pretty much trash. Everyone had infinites, 8 hit combos KILLED you with little effort, and half the cast was original while the other half of the cast just clones of them in different palettes. It was pretty ugly, and noone quite took it seriously, but it was fun for being broken.

Well that’s the thing though, this game went through at LEAST 10+ revisions, seeing as how it was a computer game first and foremost. It was Melty Blood at the start, then it went through several revisions, then an expansion pack was released for it, ReAct, which revised it further and added a few new characters. MB:R then went through 9 versions itself, before news came about that it would hit arcades. So the game hit the arcades, but MB:R went through another upgrade, to MB:R Final Tuned, which was as close as they could get the computer game to mimic the arcade version without adding the new characters, stages, etc. It was a huge change.

Hell, the arcade version itself has gone through 3 versions itself. Version A did away with an infinite found early on, Version B is what’s out now, and Version C is what’s on the PS2, which corrects the infinites still in Version B and refines things further, and is being reverse ported to the arcades.

So after two years of constantly fine tuning this, I’d hope it’s at least worth a try.

;p

Pat, you are a Beast :V

Well Master Chibi, I realize nobody has to coax me into liking this game. And I have checked out the MB threads, but they consist mostly of “I try to do D1, A2, to qcb C but A1 blahb lah blahblahb lah” and that doesn’t really tell me much about the game. I also read up on the basics of the game, but nothing seemed really original, and the combo system seemed to lack a lot of options. I didn’t force anyone to post in this thread, I simply asked a question, and some people were cool enough to give me some answers. You obviously like the game, so like, keep playing it. I just wanted to make sure that before I quit playing it I wasn’t missing something totally obvious that made this game rock, cuz I’ve read a lot of good reviews and the people who’ve heard of it seem to enjoy it. Sorry if I insulted something you like (not really).

master chibi, i agree and also your’e correct about everything except that ps2 runs on version b, which is going to be reverse ported. version a has been running in japanese arcades for over a year now.

Dude, if you play it, and you don’t like it, then don’t play it. Simple as that; you really shouldn’t need other people to tell you whether or not to play a game. You’ve already stated your opinion of the game, so why make this thread if you’re gonna ignore everyone elses? If you don’t see what makes it rock when you play it, then it’s probably not for you.

Also, I don’t see how the combo system is limited; you can do some pretty crazy shit, even in AC.

Alright, point taken guys, my thread was pointless, let us let it die now.

omg japanophile

=p

I feel sorry for the guys who don’t have the fonts installed.

Request denied.

is this game in arcades or something? cause i never seen it.

Wait, Frankie is legal? What am I wasting my time here for? Time to-

@ Orka:

Actually the arcade version out right now is B, A was the version with the H&K tree infinite.
