So Iâm having the same anti air problems with Rog as I did with Bison. Everyone is free to jump forward just above my head and all I can do is try to escape. Advice on keeping people off me? Nobody is respecting anything I do.
Rog has huge issues stopping closely spaced jump forwards, he loses his anti-airs. Itâs around the range of point blank jab - jab - jump forward both St.mp and cr.hp will lose to the jumps, you have to jump back and j.hp them which is REALLY annoying.
Iâve also found jump back LK quite good for getting out of those tricky close up situations where they jump over you. Seemed to stuff them quite well.
I donât like Tysonâs CCâs too much. HK pushes them too far away and you canât combo into crMP. So youâre like âOkay, I guess I have to do HK CC then just Rush Punch.â But mang, HK CC then HP Rush Punch is 186 damage and 315 stun. But if you just do HK CC and then Sweep, it does the same exact damage. No reason to do HK CC and then Rush Punch unless you want to combo into Super or EX to get the most damage.
You canât even use crHP if youâre too far away. I thought thatâs what Cacpom wanted you to do but nah son. If youâre too far away, crHP will hit them but it will not CCâŚ
The best meterless CC combo from HK is: HK CC, dash in, MK,MP target combo, V-Skill Punch. Does 250 damage and 400 stun. Damage is eh and meh but the stun is pretty good.
Tempted to go into Ranked Match now because every time I play in Casual Match itâs a Tyson mirror. Iâve fought a grand total of 4-5 Ibuki players up until now.
His crHP CC seems pointless. Its like Cacpom thought âLetâs give Tyson a cool Launcher CC like Mika.â Then an assclown appears and is like âHey! You canât give Tyson something cool! Oh, itâs already in the game? Then just damage scale the hell out of it.â
Up close u can do another st.HK after walking forward for a bit, u can then link it into cr.MP or cr.MK.
But if thatâs too hard u can always Dash up st.MK and then link into his LK MK HK target combo, or simply do his MK MP target combo.
I see what everyone is talking about when it comes to Tysonâs buttons.
I donât know what it is or how every single dood has seemingly figured it out in less then a week. But every single time I try to do Rush Punch or HP the doods mash HK or HP and it beats it. Just straight up beats every button he has. Even EX Punches.
I donât get it mang.
Itâs like Cacpom thought âWeâre going to give every other character this amazing HK or HP that CCâs, has great reach and great priority. Except for Mika and Tyson.â
I donât think Tyson is Rambo (Arex) levels of bad but heâs not that much better. The only times I feel like I won legit with Tyson is if the dood fooks up, I have V-Trigger and go in and land a target combo, or I made a read and landed super.
But itâs like⌠They gave him no crossup, no reversal, his armored move is ass, but V-Meter is 3 stocks even though if he combos into it itâs at most like 250 damage until you end it with super. It makes sense why Dicktatorâs V-Meter is 3 blocks because his V-Trigger is so GDLK. It changes the property on his dash and Devilâs Reverse and allows him to do big damage without ending with super. A jump in or CC combo cancelled into V-Trigger and using one EX Bar is about 400 damage with Dicktator. Meanwhile Tyson does 250 or just about 400 with super and he doesnât get GDLK mobility and V-Trigger EX Punches still have bad priority when psychic dudes mash HK.
I just donât get it mangs. Heâs still fun but heâs not going to replace the Goddess when I play serious.
Maybe they wanted you to not use rush punches as a free get-in, quite obvious considering their frame data values. Donât play SFIV Balrog and youâll be fine, this version of Balrog is sitting around mid-table IMO, completely viable and tournament winnable.
Mang⌠Youâre starting to piss me off now. I mentioned HP, that just gets stuffed bad. So does cr.MP. So does cr.MK which has even less range.
Iâm not saying Tyson is bottom tier but itâs HARD to get in especially when so many characters have a GDLK heavy that CCâs or they can V-Trigger cancel from and go in on you.
Even harder once they have you in the corner because the genissus at Cacpom thought he shouldnât have a crossup. So anyone, even a character with mediocre AA moves, can catch Tyson the instant he jumps over.
No clue what youâre losing out to, you have a 7f cr.mk thatâs a brilliant counter-poke and closes distance as an auto-confirm on hit. Should try some st.mk/cr.mp buffers in neutral as well to catch dashes/stray buttons. Iâd say our st.hk is one of the better CCâs in the game, you canât quite convert silly amounts of damage from it without VTC but the start-up and frame advantage it offers are pretty much second to none in terms of pressure. St.hk is fucking scary on both hit and block.
What? He can combo into v-trigger andget like 350 for one bar and 425 for two bars both without counter hit or a jump in.
His damage is crazy good, thatâs not the problem. I think the problem is he canât open people up easily; his over head is react-able and his lows are just alright- so his high low game is weak and his left/right game is pretty weak since he canât cross up and Iâve only seen dash under mix ups off of crush counter cr.hp. His only real way of opening people up and doing damage is frame traps. His frame traps are really good and since he can decent damage without charge heâs not limited so much by walking forward. His walk speed is pretty good which allows him to shimmy and use tick throws as well. I think since his neutral, damage, and frame trap/pressure are good as soon as we get comfortable with him we should be able to compensate for his weak defense.
