I think that if Balrog indeed remains a charge character in SF5, then his V-Skill should be a long-recovery feint Turn Around Punch, that’s special cancellable into another Turn Around Punch, since so many characters have way to avoid fireballs already
His regular TAP’s will probably lose the projectlie invincibility property, while EX will be completely invulnerable to them
Yeah i played with Afro many sets, he usually use DJ against Dictator but i also played with his Boxer many times. And yeah i know what ST Boxer is capable of. But man i love that match up, like i said in the Dictator thread, i love playing against the top tier in ST, those are the most exciting matchups for me in the entire game.
Woshige: However, we’re considering a variety of things.* Balrog for example we think that we can make into a character that has a different type of fun from his previous versions**. Look forward to the new characters.*
"THE ULTIMATE FEATURE! SAME CHARACTER VS. SAME CHARACTER!"
It’s funny to think that a nowadays-conventional feature wasn’t even a thing in the genre’s inception, thus having to advertise it on the cabinet itself.
He actually was. Go through his portrayal in Alpha 3, his diagloue, win quotes, etc. He wasn’t dumb and certainly not a thug. Boxer was the heavyweight champion of the world and all that title entails. Yes, he was greedy and wanted power like any good villain, yes he was brutally violent in the ring, but again he wasn’t a thug. He was a Shadaloo King who worked his way to the top of the hierarchy. If you want a black thug, we have Birdie. Boxer is a king and a champion, and should act like one.
His portrayal in SF2 and subsequently SF2 the animated movie had a level of class SF4 Boxer wouldn’t understand even if it punched him in the face.
