So bad on wakeup will surely hurt him eh? So there’s a trend where all the top characters are the ones who are not free on wakeup, and have or have a DP of some kind.

Urien is my only hope now…and he has a fireball, invincible shoryuken. He’s destine top tier…i hope Capcom doesn’t ruin him before he is released.

I really don’t think crush counter DP’s offsets characters who’s wakeup option is moves that have armor that activates on 1 or 3rd frame…when it can be thrown and meatied…and still be punished heavily on block with strong or heavy attacks.

having a DP makes mika and laura mixups 50/50 into a 33/33/33.

Why? How is he ridiculous? Did you play against him? Oh you mean tech videos that are not done on real opponents?..like everyone in this game has tech that does 50% damage in the right circumstances is ridiculous to you?

I’m basically just going off of what I’ve seen. Strong fireball game, I’m not sure about the frames on his specials so I won’t say anything on them, good mixups w/Aegis, some insane normals. I’m not good at explaining things, lol. Where he’s at balance-wise in the story just seems a bit too strong to me. I didn’t mean ruin as in make him low tier, I just meant a small bit of tuning.

Neither character is finished, I think we should consider the current story mode versions “Boss” characters, in that they may be considerably powered up. Neither character has their animations and effects completely finished either but I’d like to see Urien before Juri considering Urien as a whole looks more complete in his design compared to Juri who looks abysmal in motion to me personally.

As long as he keeps Aegis combos I’m happy, they look ridiculously fun in this game.

Yeah Urien looks overpowered, just like everyone thought Ibuki and Balrog looked overpowered ._.

Well you saying what you seen. Knee-jerk reactions on highlight videos calling nerfs without playing the character is scrub mentality. I assure you most those mixups can be avoided with a srk, or v-reversal…and his aegis needs 3 meters to do so takes awhile to build.

So you’re saying Story mode Urien is perfect where he is?

EDIT: Ah, actually I don’t much care anymore. Just realized that even if Urien comes out busted, there’s only a small wait until the end of year balance patch. I could handle it.

I rather a character be strong, than a character being nerfed to the ground in fear of being strong. Which is the current trend of DLC characters… IDK about perfect but he looks fine to me so far…if something is glitchy or underpowered or overpowered in terms off scaling or damage then DAMAGE ratios need to be adjusted fine. But other than that he doesn’t look ridiculous strong but enough to be competitive. Like i dont want his invincible frames to be removed from his reversal tool.

I’m loving the v-skill punch follow-up into EX straight extensions in V-Trigger

I’ve been having such a hard time linking the st.mk into cr.hk. It comes out rarely, and even then I’ve never been able to get the h. upper to come out. Never been really good at charge characters in general, so if anyone has any tips on what I should be doing here, I’d greatly appreciate it.

Needs to hit meaty and be counter-hit, also landing the h.dash upper requires you to charge at the earliest frame possible, so you should dash > press st.mk and go into an immediate downback, if it scores a counter-hit confirm into the full combo. If it isn’t a counter hit you just have to cr.mp xx dash low

I’m not sure where Capcom is leading us with this toolset…

I dont understand why they wouldnt mak TAP like sf4 where u can hold buttons down and still have some type of offense

? It’s better, it’s only two buttons are opposed to three. You keep more offensive tools than losing them now.
