I donât like how theyâre saying Balrogâs jab has been âtoned downâ, that shit better be 3 frames. A boxer with a shitty jab is just a fucking slap in the face.
EDIT: Iâm actually liking the decision to move dash punches to V-Skill. That will really open up some new shit for him and make his pressure more mobile.
Iâll say thisâthe only actual boxer in the game having a bad jab might be one of the dumbest design decisions ever. He needs to have a 3F + on block jab period.
The thing that stood out about Balrogâs SFIV jab wasnât the startup, multiple characters had 3 frame moves.
I can see them adjusting how the jab fits into his gameplay and making it less significant, but it absolutely should be 3 frames. Balrog should have dominant normals to go along with his fairly predictable style, and if they just completely change how he plays then it isnât Balrog.
We donât know yet that his jab is 3 frames or not only that it has been toned down from SFIV like every other jab in the game so far except maybe Cammyâs. Its a little worrying but not a 4 frame confirmation yet.
Also we donât know if he has an invincible reversal or not just that he doesnât have Headbutt back, could be something new or headbutt has a different input now. Hopefully they axed Headbutt, it had a stupid animation in SFIV anyway.
The guy who played him didnât look to have explored possible inputs during his 5 minutes anyway. All we know for certrain now is Capcom still has a functional Balrog kicking around and that either hes next up or they seriously hate the Balrog mains from SFIV for shitting on his Ultra âbuffsâ as another character delay is waiting in the wings.
