About Felicia, I suggest you use Low assist, not worth using OTG since Dante and Zero otg by themselves.

try to always have buster charged so that when you hit someone with Jam session, you jump and do any combo into j.S xx lv3 buster > L hyenkyaku to continue the combo. Also remember that Zero doesnt “have” to forcefully get in, because of his mobility he can just chill and move around the screen until the opp makes a mistake and eats a buster. Indeed Assist do help, but you have Jam session which is the best assist for Zero. Just be careful when you’re moving around, to not run into a proyectile or hyper, maybe if you could tell us what exactly are you having troubles against zoners we could give you better tips =)

I would definitely replace Felicia with Vergil. The extensions you get with Vergil are sick and the character is fantastic. Doom missiles are sick too, but you’ll also have to learn how to integrate them into your combos (lots of info on that on the boards.) Overall, though, the real reason you should replace Felicia on that team is that neither Zero or Dante truly need an OTG assist if you’re doing the right combos.

This also breaks down into the debate of whether you should play who you like or top tier, but you’ve already got two, why not finish the trifecta? :wink:

As for getting in, there are a few under read posts on the Zero boards that are great: tips and tricks and movement. Also remember that Zero has great zoning, which is part of what makes him so ridiculous. I assume you’re already doing this, but confirming off lightning is crucial, and while I overuse it myself (it has startup!) filling the screen with stuff is never a bad thing.

As for landing a hit with Zero, it sounds like your chasing instead of poking. I don’t mean poking with normals, I mean poking with lightning and buster. Zero does not have to go in unless he wants to. He’s fully capable of hit confirming from long distance, which is what you want to do given his low health. That’s the best way to land hits in the neutral game - poke with buster and if it hits (especially an airborne opponent) go right into lightning. Control space with lightning cancelled with busters.

Also, the only “unsafe” things for Zero are things that his Buster can’t cancel, which comes down to his j.Hs - that’s it. Everything else is safe given you have lvl3 Buster which you should always have. If you feel like something is unsafe, my guess if that you’re either not using lvl3 Buster effectively or you’re not constantly charging it.

I dunno about that, trying to follow a Buster with Lightning IS punishable by a few methods, I personally don’t do it even if my opponent doesn’t know what to do against it just so I don’t build on bad habits.

Zeros runaway with Jam Session or Missiles is pretty hard to deal with though, its much easier to fish for a hit when your opponent is trying to chase you down through your barrage of BS, I reccomend that for newer Zeros rather than trying to go crazy with spamming out Lightning on the screen

I meant as a hit confirm. If anyone is throwing lightning out there without making sure Buster hit or doesn’t have a lvl3 Buster to cancel it…

Wait to call Dante and relaunch until as late as possible, then do them very close together (calling Dante first). Do the j.M just as Jam Session starts hitting.

does it work after vergil extension?

I’ve never used Vergil except like 5 minutes in training mode with him so I don’t know. Actually pretty much all of my teams only ever have 1 combo extension assist since your other assist will usually be used trying to land that first hit. So I don’t really know if it works after any other combo extension.

I use it because it better positions me for the buster > L-Raikousen > finisher, and overall feels way more consistent IMO.

I’ve always had trouble with consistency using H raikousen. Sometimes they fall too fast, sometimes they fall too slow, but most situations ended in me whiffing the L-Raikousen. This was when I was straight up terrible. I could end it with H-Sentsuizan > Rekkoha, but that just made me feel super scrubby (still am).

Consistency at the expense of a little less damage is fine by me. I still hit 1M with LL anyway. I’ll give it a try though since my execution isn’t as terribad as it used to be.
