WHATAMIFIGHTINGFOOOOOOOOO!: the MvC3 Zero Thread

thats not true at all, I’m mainly saying that coz i play against 3 good players that use MSS and each of those characters have a super that beats Genmu Zero, but still…

Then you’re not doing it right, man. If you input Genmu Zero during their super flash, it WILL beat Tempest, Gravity Squeeze, Hailstorm, Lightning Storm, Rage of Storm (Whatever it’s called), Plasma Storm.

And if you wait until right before the first wave of Magnetic Shockwave/Hyper Sentinel Force, you’ll beat those too.

No, the light one is just really fast. It works as a good anti air to beat stuff out but it’s not exactly rewarding. I usually use S as an anti air since the hitbox is so huge.

You can also punish Gravity Squeeze after you block it from everywhere. I posted a little list on the match-up thread.

This is disappointing. His DPs don’t seem to have much use.
Genmu Zero beating everything including beam supers, however, is amazing.

Some random info:

The lightning bolt from Raikousen counts as a projectile. I’d estimate that it has about the same durability as 3 of Taskmaster’s arrows.
Rekkoha has its damage scaled by 0.96^(hits-1). It scales to a minimum of 0.4 times damage, 0.5 during X-Factor. Each hit does 15,000 damage base for 30 hits.
Genmu Zero ignores damage scaling. It does 350,000 damage (multiplied by X-Factor), no matter how many hits proceed it.
Zero’s normals scale to a minimum of 0.2 times damage or 0.5 during X-Factor. Specials are 0.3 or 0.5 in X-Factor.
Sougenmu does not directly affect damage scaling.
X-Factor level 1 increases his damage by 25%, 2 by 50%, 3 by 75%. These numbers are character-specific.

Be nice if someone uploaded the frame data on all his moves from the guide in this thread.

I get some trouble with players that are almost always airborne and jumpy players that advance guard and jump during the smallest amount of blockstun. I guess I should use j.623H or what?

Nice idea, ill work on that tomorrow.

After seeing the Dark Phoenix counters on the front page, I decided to quickly pop into training mode to see if Zero can control it as well, the answer is he can but you need X-Factor ( any level ) and a Level 3 meter.

When you have Phoenix nearly dead, move as far as away as you can, go into X-Factor mode ( even level 1 will do ) and then either do a charge shot and do a sword slash projectile, if it hits her, quickly ( but not immediately ) do the motion for his level 3 Hyper. The timing of the hyper is critical as the slash needs to be about half ways through the screen just as she transforms, immediately following the transformation, the slash will hit her, killing her instantly.

Also worth noting is that a normal no xfc level 3 Hyper WILL NOT kill Dark Phoenix but will still take away almost 90% of her health.

Like I said, it was a quick test to see if Zero can control it so I’m not sure of its viability in a real match. I’m also uncertain if it can be pulled off if your close to Phoenix when you do it, I need to do more testing

I love Zero. Annoying rushdown which usually no matter what will eventually make someone crack and he is a snap back monster. The snap back off of easy hit confirmed -> H is the best part of his game IMO.

100% combo by me! zero

It’s fancy… but you need 5 bars and X factor. Not too practical IMO.

I don’t really know where i should post this one, in the combo, assist or general thread but well.

So, after reading the topics, i have seen that you can DHC from Zero Rekkoha into Chris lv 3. It works, maybe glitchy (looks like half the time, the lasers can’t find there ways on the screen, may be corner related)…

Anyway, after reading this, i had to try it at 3 am and 1 hours later i found two interresting while toying around with Zero and Chris machine gun assist.

First off, while in sougenmu if you do :l::m::h::s: , :a1: ,:f::h: (1 hit) :qcf::l: you can continue from the other side with:l::m::h: and so on…
Might work with any assist that hits a lot (akuma’s tatsu, wolverine berserker charge) i haven’t tried it. It migh work even better in fact now that i think about it.
It might even alow to do :l::m::h::s: , :a1: ,:f::h: (1 hit) :qcf::h: j.:h: cross up & overhead and continue the combo.
I’m sure there is a way to do it whit the :h: command dash using Chris, i’ll have to find when to cancel into the command dash from the :h: or :f::h: . From what i can understand, the :f::h: won’t allow it since the assist come out during it.

After that i got to play with the Tiger Knee Rakousen.

The :h: one can sometime works as an instant overhead in the corner. Haven’t tested it middle screen, i was focus on making it connect with anything else after taht. Tried while in sougenmu, it had 3 hits but it’s still not enough to land and continue with a combo.
I just can’t get to do a tiger knee motion and call an assist. It either do a snapback if i’m to fast or do not do the special move if the assist is called when i it :uf: + :a1: + :h: or :uf: + :a1: then :h: . The only way for it to work might be with a longer assist, i don’t know. I’ll tried tomorrow just for the sake of knowledge.

Got to tried a few thing with the Tiger Knee :m: raikousen.
Well, you can combo of it a st.:l: or cr.:l: making it a very good wy to land a combo from across the screen. The only thing that could be bothersome are the fireball that can hit you in the dash. Why does any of is move have any invincibility :frowning:
Well anyway, you can combo it with Chris machine gun assist. Haven’t even tried to throw a Hadangeki let alone in sougenmu and se if it can be linked.
Anyway from the other side of the screen with Chris machine gun : :a1: :qcf:, :uf:+:h: :l::m::h: ect… work
Without any assist a simple tk raikousen, LMH 6H, ect… work.

Might led to some interesting set up, especially if someone find a way to combo of an instant overhead :h: raikousen

This is because people do not realize you can control Chris’ level 3. You can hold a button during its startup and the reticule will start either in front of, a medium distance away, or across the screen from Chris. Not really Zero-related, but figured I’d drop that knowledge. That’s really the only viable and damaging DHC that Zero and Chris have. Sucks that it’s 4 bars, but it does do a lot of damage.

You can control where it start ? Well, that’s not exactly what i was saying. The first hit is on screen then sometimes after the reticule just disapear ^^

took me about an hour but i finally got the charge switching down, gotta love practice

Here’s something fun - if you use Ryuenjin assist, you can counter Zero in (f+whichever assist button he is while blocking) and immediately cancel in to lvl 3. It’s 4 bars, but it can be free damage and save a character from chip. The people I play have finally started to learn that when he’s on point you can’t chip Zero (with a super)…now they’re going to have to learn you can’t chip anyone.

I hope this wasn’t mentioned earlier. Experiment with this alittle. I just found out that Electric Airdash [AIR ONLY dp+lp] has invulnerable startup. This makes my discovery better than I imagined. Use the tk tactic with this move vs players. UF, n, d, df+ light attack to do a really low one to the ground and cross-up. While they’re pinned, you can do attacks from the ground, and just think, imagine if you called an assist as you hit up forwards. This would make an excellent cross-up tactic.

Back from the lab again with some stuff people might or might not know. Has to do with snapback.

So just to give some background info:

  • You can juggle an assist with a launcher infinitely if the point character is in normal state.
  • If you snapback both the point and the assist characters at the same time, and there are the only members of the team left you can juggle the assists with only 3 hits.

Okay so now the Zero info. I don’t know if people knew about this, again cool if you do, cool if you don’t. So if Zero is able to snap back 2 characters at the same, he puts the assist character in the screen with an unrecoverable knockdown. (all characters can do this) But I tested that actually, Zero can OTG with Rekkouka and deal more than 500k on the assist, and even do a lv.3 buster to finish with 560k or so. So that’s good, but Zero really shines once he got both assist and point (with 2 characters on the team) with a c.:l:. From anywhere on the screen you can do your basic BnB with 3 loops and then snapback at the 3rd Shippuga. The assist character would now have heavy amounts of damage on him, but he is still getting more. Now that the assist is on that snapbac state, Zero can OTG with Rekkouka and then lv.3 buster shot or Ryuenjin:h: to kill any full health assist character that has 1000 or less health. If you really want to kill Sent assist, consider using Rekkouka to OTG and then X-Factor Rekkouka. I can very much see Zero as one of the best snapbackers in the game.

NOTE: After Rekkouka, hitstun scaling gets very very harsh, just accepting 1 hit! I tried DHCing into Proton Cannon and Doom (the dummy) would fall after th first hit of Proton Cannon right through. Then tried with Ammy’s lv.3 and even do it did hit, it didn’t went to the super animation. Interesting stuff.

I am gonna try OTGing with Rekkouka and instead of releasing buster, try to snapback again if see if you can OTG again. Or maybe even using that last hit to tag in another character for an air combo.
