Zero’s Level 3 is called Genmu-Zero. Seems longer during the super flash, though…
EDIT: Some guy on gamefaqs says the full quote Zero says during his level 3 is “Ittoryudan, Genmu-Zero!” whatever that means.

After playing a lot of matches with my friend, it dawned on me that we can now use hadangeki to finish block strings safely. It wasn’t an option in TvC but since it’s a command normal and it seems to be pretty similar in properties from when it was a charge move, it stays on the screen for a good bit. Even if they pushblock it you’re in a good position to try and move in again.
You can even go full screen and you can get around 3 hadangekis on screen I think? And you can change up the timing to throw the opponent off. Add it with the sougenmu super and you’ll have spam city. Just be wary of what type of opponent you’re fighting, and if they have a full screen beam super or something like that.
Hadangeki does randomly beat a few projectiles although a bunch of them I can’t remember offhand due to not testing this.
I’m guessing this change is to offset some of the stuff that the MvC3 system took away from Zero in terms of pressure, but it’s a pretty good thing IMO.
Thanks. His mission combos look alot easier than I had imagined them to be
From the vids I’v seen mission mode seems to be easier than I expected. Thanks for the upload.
Does Zero work well with Ammys Cold Star assist?
Do his DPs have any invun? I keep hearing its pretty poor.
How do you guys feel about Zero so far?
I’ve been really loving his playstyle but he obviously doesn’t seem as strong as he was in TVC (duh) so i’m having my doubts about him. Sounds like Capcom knew he was bust in TVC and wanted to tone him down. Maybe did it a bit too much? I feel lost in the air with him and always feel this constant need to tag in my team mate to finish off the air combo. He seems like a ground character to me similar to x-23 and wolverine…
EDIT: Can we also get a video to go along with the combos posted? That would be helpful as well.
Zero (and many other characters) do an easy 100% with XFC and one meter (instead of two). I think I have something down that will kill for 0 meters and the XFC. Standard combo damage is around 60% (600,000) assuming you are doing the double air loop thing with the mega buster. With an assist I could see it going as high as maybe 70% (ground loop, second ground loop, z buster, third ground loop, air combo to knockdown, dive kick + assist, relaunch, z buster to dive, relaunch, knockdown super). It’s possible that the hit stun decay will cause issues though, but there are not too large gaps in that.
Do you know any combos that do 60 or 65% with one super? (no x-factor?)
for Zero second combo why is there so many holds & 1 release?
So you can continue to combo while holding charge for the level 3 z-buster shot.
so just never let go from the first charge. k got it
For Zero holding an A charge will probably be good enough. his tvc combo still works
[A (hold) b,C,Down+C,F+C,assist like a hadouken or ironman projectile>B,C,Down+C,F+C>S>J.B,DJ.BB>Release lv3 shot> QCBA>]Land> repeat bracket>after the second or third slv3 shot relaunch end with the new lightning move>S> air chain>rekkouha super
Also this is a combo vid I made a while back within the first few months of TVC This may get new comers some solid combos.

ADVICE FOR NEW PLAYERS
:it’s just my 2 cents you don’t have to take it if you don’t want to.:
You can do just fine by holding an A charge. C charge is more advanced. Everyone had a little trouble fighting while holding a charge sometimes. you will just have to get used to it. I recommend that you all don’t try to go crazy with holding a charge right away and just get your way to there, [no charge combos>A charge combos>C charge combos (basically a progression, don’t worry as long as you keep working at it your zero will be just fine)]. The vid I posted and my other vids just use an A charge. Really he hasn’t changed much.
and so it begins lets get this going!
Zero can’t chain stand C to crouching C, and he doesn’t have a double jump…
So that means hes bad dude? lol. No. Zeros fun and awesome.
What kind of assists do you think benefit him?
(I’m new to marvel so i need help.)
Also not pertaining to zero directly but how do you do Advancing guard? I got everything else down tho.
Dr.Doom’s Hidden Missles assist, Sentinel’s Drone(charge and bomb are both good), Amaterasu’s ice star. Anything that can lock the opponent down and allow you to maintain pressure.
Like I said earlier the point of the combo looping and holding charge with A then C then A again is to give you time to get Level 3 Z buster shot ready when you go in the air. Level 1 and level 2 shots don’t have enough hit-stun for lightning attack to combo.
Now you can sacrifice your A button and use it to charge the level 3 shot, and try to get some mix-up involving J.C, then land and do 5B > 5C > 6C > D > J.B > J.B > Release A > 623A > D > J.B > J.B > J.C(depending on spacing in air you can hit multiple hits but sometimes it’s better to cancel the first hit to the D) > J.D > 236+AB.
I’m enjoying using Zero’s C teleport to get behind people in the corner with J.C, normal jumps don’t cross up in the corner but teleports and some dive kicks will cross up so it’s been useful. So depending on the spacing when you do teleport C you can mix up the opponent with landing in front or behind after.
holy shit… more emphasis on C charge, at least 2 assists are allowed in a combo
@Don’t Jump
Any assists that generally extends his chain are useful. These are usually but not limited to projectile assists. Several ant-air assists can work too as long as you can make the assist hit after F+C your chain will give you enough for a lv3 A charge. If you become good with C charge assists won’t be needed necessarily (at least for the first rep) to get the a lv3 charge.
Do you think you could make use of the loop to release 2 Busters during a combo? for example: L [hold] > M > H > f+H [hold] > L [hold] > M > H > Lvl 3 Buster > Dash > L [Hold] > M > H > f+H > S > j.M > j.M > Lvl 3 Buster etc…
May be pointless in the end with all the scaling but it’d be pretty decent if you aren’t going to end in hyper
I’ve been using his teleport in the middle of blockstrings since it can be canceled into from his 5C and 6C with Chun Li’s LL’s assist for the added block stun lockdown. I use A or B teleport to get behind them and keep it going. Since the recovery isn’t awful, you can usually keep it going before the LL assist ends. As long as he doesn’t get Advance Guarded away, the pressure and mixup is pretty amazing.
I’m also finding his Lightning Dive with Sent’s Squad assist to be an amazing way to get in.
