WHATAMIFIGHTINGFOOOOOOOOO!: the MvC3 Zero Thread

Since handangeki is slow do yall think its possible to cross an opponent up with his command dash after you shoot it out? I forgot where i saw it but in a video its slow enough that zero was able to move around and do shit after it was shot.

Yes, it’s that video above.

Assists being fundamental in helping Zero get inside? Sounds about right. However, assuming you wont always have that right assist to aid you, I do hope to eventually discover an effective method to getting inside by himself

With that almost instant Green Dive he can probably do a ground chain into TK Green Dive to reset the space the chain made so you can go for another ground magic series or even could give you enough time to call your assist. (Dante AA, Doom Rocks, Chun Legs, Ammy Ice). Really looking forward to try that out, so does his command dash. Also Wind was saying that maybe a charged shot after a ground string could punish an advancing guard.

I have a question. When Zero is about to die and then activates X-factor, does he say “it’s not over yet”? The last Megaman X i played fully was X4 and i just thought it was freakin cool every time he said that.

At the 23 second mark in the video at the top, Zero still crosses up Storm in the corner, just like TvC. This is pretty important, as far as opponents that don’t know about this type of stuff, it’ll be a good mixup with an assist.

I’m wondering about the full-screen teleport, and how much is affected by pushback, but I guess we won’t know until the full version.

Found what Wind saw of Zero punishing Advancing Guard with the Buster.

At the 00:44:00 mark, on the match between Marn and Dios. He even gets a full combo in the corner.

people were saying he just stopped blocking, and it could be… sure doesn’t look like it tho’.

On the other hand, there’s no evidence that you stop blocking after AG at all.

It’s a puzzlement ><

 He got hit by the buster, doesn’t that sort of prove he isn’t blocking?

the question is slightly different. Why wasn’t he blocking?

It happened to the same guy twice, did he just forget what happened the first time?

and dios-x isn’t an idiot afaik :stuck_out_tongue:

It does look like he stopped blocking, so if that is the case while it may not be a direct punish for using AG it still means Zero has that option to scare his opponents into staying put with the buster. Taking it one step further, with an AAA then you’ve got a little fireball trap scenario going.

Can anyone explain how that’s meant to work? Does AG have recovery after it or something?

Actually, when Iron Man is blocking he has his blue shield up, but interesting enough when he pushblocks he does a little “push” stance but his shield is not up anymore.

Very interesting.

see yeah >>

It’s likely nothing, but it’s worth looking at anwyays.

Edit: Would be hilarious if it were an IM thing ><

Anyone come up with some good teams yet? I’m planning on having Zero on point again, like I did in TvC, and I’m trying to figure out who’d be good for him to team up with, preliminarily at least. I like the idea of ChunLegs or DoomRocks, but I’m lost as to who to have for my second.

So far, I’m thinking Zero/???/Chun as most likely, with the ??? being a mixed bag of possibilities, but Magneto or X-23 are the most likely (Haven’t got the chance to watch too many videos, so it’s pretty much all conceptual for me)

Zero says ‘No more games!’ when he activates X-Factor.

I’ve decided for my team I’ll be using Zero as point, with Dante and Ammy. Will be spending a month in training mode once Feb 17th arrives.

My list of Zero teams I’m going to give a try:

Zero/Wesker(or X-23)/Ammy(or Chun/Doom): Ryuenjin/Samurai Edge(or Ankle Slicer)/Cold Star(or Lightning Legs/Molecular Shield)
Zero/Chun/Phoenix: Ryuenjin/Lightning Legs/Fireball
Taskmaster/Zero/Chun (or Morrigan/Ryu): Aim of Hawkeye (assumed assist)/Ryuenjin/Kikkoken (or Handengeki/upkicks [or SRKs])

The first seems to have the best mix of DHC potential, synergy, and quality point characters. The second is to use Zero and Chun as batteries to power Phoenix, who comes out with 5 bars and threatens Dark Phoenix or comboing into super and DHCing into Zero’s level 3. (I also find it awesome that this team can die in 3 combos.) The third is mostly a Taskmaster team, but is designed to pressure an opponent into making mistakes so I can use counters and arrow supers AHVB-style, but I’m hoping Taskmaster will have a good (Cold Star-like) Aim of Hawkeye assist so he can help Zero and Chun’s rushdown.

zero’s lightning charge looks REALLY REALLY GOOD in the most recent footage posted. It’s beyond safe into some kind of nether realm of mystery.

Interestingly, I haven’t really built my team around Zero. My team is just made up of the characters I like. I’ll see if I can make them work though. My team as of now is:

Zero (Ryuenjin)
Spencer (Armor Pierce)
Trish (Low Voltage)

For now I’ll just stick with my one team. Morrigan looks pretty interesting as well, she might be my sub. Maybe Doom as well, he has a good assist but he’s not as fun as he used to be and I don’t like the idea of “only for the assist” characters

I think might be sleeping one Zero’s fireball assist. It looks like it covers a lot of space and I’ve seen it go through things such as Deadpool’s bullet’s and such. But yeah, Ryuenkin does look like a decent assist (or atleast his best), but fireball assist could be used to cover some space when your 3rd character is gone or you want teleport mix-ups.

My team right now is probably like most:
Zero/Character that is good with Zero/Doom

Amaterasu looks really cool and with that I would have 2 great assists if I need them, maybe Trish or Storm for versatility, Sent if he is fun to play, or maybe even Wesker. Played Doom in MVC2 so hope he is not that different so I can try some tricks from the other one. Even do first 3 weeks after launch are going to be free with scrubs.
