After going through this thread I’m still undecided on which version of KoF I should get. I’ve never played any of these games before and the most popular with everybody seems to be 02’ and 03’. So would this be a good investment?
I could of sworn I remembered a EX Kyo infinit by just tap foward, foward and then pressing down+Strong? I think it would work out of the corner, not sure though.
I dont get how people use Chris in 2002, cause I went into traing mode, and I cant find his move were he shoots his fireball, or his other move were he punchs them a few times then go’s into a uppercut.
On other note, I saw people cancel moves into other moves in flash mode. I still cant figure it out.
And ya is anyone banned in 2002 console version?
Geese
Goenitz
King
KUSANAGI
Orochi Chris
Orochi Iori
Orochi Shermie
Orochi Yashiro
Shingo
My personal favorite is '96 because it’s the first game with Leona in it, and she was, well, beastly. But it only took me my first Iori uppercut to realize the game is broken.
I have the most fun on 2002, personally, although '98 and '95 are fun, too.
2002/NeoWave>98 for “best” in my opinion. But my favorite(i.e. Most fun for me in both serious and casual play)would be 2003 actually. Haven’t played XI yet, but it looks pretty amazing if you ask me.
Guys have you considered this…if NeoGeo Battle Coliseum 2 comes out…has tag and 3-on-3…how that could kinda make the KOF’s kinda obsolete??? Kof was the first of its kind to link 3 on 3 from SNks other fighting games…now with NGBC KOF is a smaller part of the SNK Universe…with NGBC being the big deal…linking characters from different time zones etc…Sam Sho characters with KOF characters…somethign storyline wouldnt permit in KOF…
Hono (fire)- qcf+ A or C
Rush Assault- qcf+ B or D (before the last hit do the uppercut motion dp+ A for the finish) You can also combo this with Standing D. Yes its unblockable.
As far as his “Flash” I dunno I use regular Chris but it could be Rush Assault-uppercut- repeat x2 or 3- Flame on Super qcb, hcf+A.
KOF has some of the best music in a fighter that I’ve seen. Especially 96/98/ and 99!
I don’t see what’s the big deal with the KOF 2002 console version of Shingo. He doesn’t seem overpowered to me. I think he could hang out with the rest of the cast just fine. And last I checked, there was no problem with Kusanagi, either.
But SNK did sorta drop the ball on King. Her damage ratio is off the fuckin’ hook! Her basic combos do like 30-40%. ROB King FTW. :wow:
you actually unlocked King? Jesus. On DC it involved playing challenge team attack mode like 150 times. I didn’t have the patience for that, so I decided I’d try beating retarded mode. I couldn’t beat level 39 and 40. 8 opponents and you have to beat each without dying in 17 seconds or less. I couldn’t even cheese my way with Ralf like I did the first 37.
I’d have to say KOF1999 for me, but then again, that is the newest KOF that won’t de-sync on me when I play it online on Kaillera using Kawaks. Otherwise, I like 2000-2003 just fine, although I’m probably leaning on 2002 since it has like everyone.
